The Titans’ salary cap is being investigated over the payment of a $10,000 sum towards a security system at the Gold Coast property where David Fifita was cautioned by police.
"The Gold Coast club are now being probed by the NRL after a report in The Courier Mail claimed they paid the five-figure sum to owners of a property where Fifita trespassed on December 27 last year.Fifita was found inside a Gold Coast property and was released by police and issued with a caution.
The report alleged that the Titans paid $10,000 to have a security gate and cameras installed at the property where the $3.5 million star was caught trespassing."..... Do the Titans think he may be dumb enough to pay another visit?
Doesn't this fifita guy just have to threaten to 'spill the beans' on the nrl and the broncos every time he is about to get into trouble and so they sweep it under the carpet?

I just find it amazing that these clubs pay out the shutup money as a matter of course , the money doesn't even come out of his pocket.
All he's learning from his mistakes is I can do what I want, the blonks at admin will bail me out. If he wasn't an entitled dickhead before they've successfully transformed him.
Years ago wendall sailor had a fender bender on the m1 near Brisbane and did the ole abuse the driver, etc. Way back then (1990's?) the club said they'd be paying any costs.

The story always seemed to be missing a few details - "poor Fifita was invited back by a female who lived there but accidentally went into the wrong room" sounds more like "he broke in sporting wood & terrified the residents in the process" to me...

The troubled career of NRL player Jamil Hopoate looks to be over after he pleaded guilty to violently assaulting girlfriend Shae Beathe outside a Port Macquarie club.
The once-promising career of NRL player Jamil Hopoate is in tatters after the 26-year-old pleaded guilty to striking his partner with an “open right palm” and knocking her to the ground outside a Port Macquarie club last year.
Lawyers acting for the off-contract footballer lodged guilty pleas to seven charges in Port Macquarie Local Court on Tuesday.
The most serious charges were two counts of common assault he committed against partner, Shae Beathe, in the car park of Club Panthers on December 28 last year.
Court documents exclusively obtained by The Mid-North Coast News reveal the moment Hopoate struck Ms Beathe to the face, before speeding off in his car and leaving police to tend to his wounded girlfriend’s injuries.
She was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for treatment, while police went out searching for the 26-year-old.
Earlier that night the pair had been drinking and dining inside the Port Macquarie establishment, but left when security kicked Hopoate out for spitting on them and his girlfriend after an argument erupted inside the venue’s pokie room.
Court documents state Ms Beathe had been sending Hopoate text messages that indicated she wanted to leave with their nine-month-old child.
When Hopoate ignored the messages, she entered the pokie room and the matter escalated when Hopoate bent Ms Beathe’s key card and threw it to the ground.
When security intervened, both the guard and Ms Beathe were spat on by Hopoate, and Ms Beathe was then escorted out safely by security.

When all parties left the club and spilled into the club‘s car park, Hopoate threatened to ‘bash’ the guards who had been accompanying Ms Beathe and their child outside.
When Hopoate and Ms Beathe were alone, court documents state Hopoate ‘pushed’ Ms Beathe.
“The accused then struck the victim to the face with an open right palm. The strike was done with such force that it sent the victim stumbling backwards and caused her to fall to the ground some distance from where she has been hit.”
Hopoate then fled the scene in his car, leaving his wounded partner in the car park.
She was escorted to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for treatment, and Hopoate was later arrested along Port Macquarie’s Oxley Highway and charged with mid-range drink driving. He returned a blood-alcohol reading of 0.095.

Police also charged him with two counts of common assault — domestic violence related, driving while license suspended, and two common assault and stalking/intimidation offences committed against the security staff with whom he’d earlier been aggressive towards.
The matter could all but end the off-contracted player‘s hopes of ever playing NRL again, after previously being jailed in 2014 for assaulting two men outside a pub on Sydney’s northern beaches.
He was axed soon after by Manly.
The 26-year-old, who is the son of ex-rugby league player John, and brother of Bulldog, Will, had high hopes of pursuing an extension to his NRL career with another club after leaving the Broncos last year.
He had only just recently returned from QLD to Sydney’s northern beaches, where it was understood he was hoping to ink a deal with a Sydney-based side.

Hopoate had been staying on the Mid-North Coast with his de facto partner’s family at the time of the December assault.
Just two weeks following his arrest, on January 14, he handed himself in at Manly Police Station where he was charged with breaching his AVO and bail conditions.
Hopoate appeared in Manly Local Court on a charge of breaching an AVO (domestic), which was linked to the Port Macquarie charges.
He pleaded guilty to one count of contravene restriction/prohibition in AVO.
As part of that AVO, Hopoate was not allowed to be in the company of his partner for at least 12 hours after drinking alcohol.
Court documents tendered to Manly Local Court showed that Hopoate and his partner went for a night out at the Harbord Diggers Club at Freshwater on Sunday, January 10.
They arrived at the popular club about 6pm and left about 8pm. The court heard that in that time, Hopoate drank six schooners of beer while he played the poker machines or in the club‘s Banksia Lounge.
Magistrate Bruce Williams fined him $700.
Hopoate will be sentenced in the Port Macquarie Local Court on April.

He already did a stint there when they signed Will, John & he on a package deal but I believe they axed him after he got done for drink driving?
Dreadfully sad story.
Not criminal, but you get an idea where some of these Blonks heads are at .. they are far more concerned with their cred amongst the wannabe gansta's than their reputation and respect from the rugby league community ...

Rabbitohs star Latrell Mitchell has emerged as a fan of a controversial social media figure who teaches his followers how to avoid the law.
As highlighted previously by Confidential, The Spanian Official has built a big following on Instagram off the back of claiming to have spent more than 12 years in jail and 20 years on the streets.
He has his own website and merchandise range and Mitchell, 23, picked up a few pieces recently, including a T-shirt and hoodie with Spanian’s slogan Hood Oos.
“Bra just ordered up,” Mitchell wrote in a private message to Spanian, which was later shared to his 122,000 followers with a screenshot of the NRL player’s purchases.
Confidential understands several other high-profile players are also fans of Spanian, whose social media feed is filled with videos detailing how to evade authorities while breaking into apartments, stealing valuables from cars, and ambushing an enemy with a bush manoeuvre — smashing someone in the back of the head with a brick or a knife.
Last week an Erskineville mural celebrating former NSW Rural Fire Service boss Shane Fitzimmons was vandalised by an unknown person with the Hood Oos slogan.

As if dealing with a humbling trial defeat to the Cowboys wasn’t bad enough, the Broncos now have an added distraction after a pub altercation involving their new assistant coach.
Kevin Walters insists his club is not at war with Brisbane’s Old Boys following revelations of a pub altercation between his assistant, John Cartwright, and Broncos legend Chris Johns.
The ongoing tension between Brisbane’s Old Boys and the Broncos suffered another ruction when Johns confirmed he was embroiled in an incident with Cartwright late last year just weeks into Walters’ tenure at Red Hill.
The big-name bust-up came to light just 24 hours before new Broncos coach Walters watched his side crash to a dismal 34-18 trial loss to the Cowboys on Saturday night.
Johns’ no-nonsense critique reached another flashpoint when he reportedly found himself at loggerheads with Cartwright, who was appointed by Walters as his assistant for Brisbane’s rebuilding mission this season.
Johns revealed to News Corp on Friday he had a heated argument which turned into a physical wrestle with Cartwright at the Caxton Hotel.
It is understood Cartwright has vehemently denied allegations he grabbed Johns by the throat as their heated words intensified.
Walters has spoken out on the incident, backing Cartwright and insisting his current Broncos regime has a harmonious relationship with Brisbane’s demanding Old Boys.
“I don’t know anything about that (Johns’ bust-up with Cartwright),” said Walters.
“To my knowledge there wasn’t an incident.”
Told that Johns had confirmed he clashed with Cartwright, Walters added: “Well if it did happen, I wasn’t there.”
Asked if he would discuss the matter with Cartwright, Walters said: “I’m not going to talk to ‘Carty’ about it, he is a big fella and he can handle his own if that’s been the case.
