It's a yes for me and we're already ahead of all the others going for him. He loves and bleed the Maroon and White, it's in his blood. Also Manly has got a great history of Queensland legends than any other club in history. Bring it on if we can get him

Interested to hear peoples thoughts on Wether you think he was genuinely upset or just trying to "galvanise/ motivate" the squad somehow??

Although there is not a Manly player on either side clearly what is needed now is for the Blues to crush the Toads tonight so that at least most of us can feel good about grubaholic Slater moaning whinging and crying! Come on Payne and Latrell for huge games!

Many dislike Billy, however I gained much respect for him when he showed a lot of concern for Wolfman when he broke his neck in the Manly Storm game! He held onto his head & neck & was screaming for medical assistance! He also checked on him after the incident. All players can be grubs on the field but can also be the opposite off it.

Yep 'Studs Up' could be a nice gu,y but also got away with blue murder on the field hence his other nick name 'Teflon'

I wrote this once and got absolutely smashed down by at least a thousand Silvertailers, no exaggeration, and all of them with their studs up. Good luck.:tmi:

That's totally right and all joking aside I had respect for Slater for that one. Hated his studs-up sliding behaviours. But with Wolfy that night he made up for a lot.

Billy out today apologising and saying he has spoken to Paul Greens wife this morning

FMD, he sat on that response that he planned out for a week, then offers an apology the day after bringing a dead man into it. Unbelievable
At least he's apologised swiftly and admitted it was wrong to do that.
I reckon he's genuinely struggling with the pressure. He thinks all of Queensland is counting on him to defend their state, but that may be an exaggeration!

Smacks of a motivational tactic by an under pressure coach. Extremely poor taste to bring up Paul Green. Hope this backfires badly and they get well and truly smashed tomorrow night.
Think it's a desperate and calculated ploy to get his side to come out breathing fire at kickoff. If you're going to use this as motivation best to do this in the sheds just before kickoff, saying this the day before game day will be lost in the hype and the last minute instructions.

I dont know what's more worrying
One of the greatest Rugby league players of all time let Sharon Woods get under his skin
Or Sharon Woods thinks he is of significance to the game of Rugby League, played musical chairs with clubs and will always be remembered as an underperforming player

Maybe he thought he had caused the damage.?

Multiple contracts, attacking players scoring tries, studs up. Bringing up Paul Green. A Queenslander that played for the Storm.

Too many offences for my liking.

Leave me out of the fan club.

But respect for the act of caring.

Honestly it is strange

From his "we are queenslanders" to glass houses and this.

What I actually think is that having essentially grown up in the melbourne bubble away from the NRL public he has not got the thick skin others have had to

All that said he looks a little troubled and as much as I disliked him as a player and now coach you hope he is mentally okay

Underperforming? You must have high expectations for rugby league players!

Insightful and I would agree

Couple that with being beneficiary of amazing accountants (Melbourne) and a generational talent pool (QLD)....... some would argue were the beneficiary of accounting skills, as the key members played together week in week out - the guy has never truly felt pressure.

My memory is a little hazy, but didn’t wolfman virtually land in slaters lap in that tackle, and immediately cried out. It would be a pretty low act for anyone to not cradle the head of a player in that position. So yes, he gets credit, but really all he did was do what just about everyone would and should have done.
