Underrated in the unstoppable 1983 team was Ian Schubert, fatty and McCabe. Boyd was suspended and injured most of the year. Won the minor premiership by a mile. Such a pity about the grand final.

Stewart watmough menzies the best I reckon.

And 1974. Lowe played at Manly, 1974-76 inclusive.

Bit of an unfair question this given a significant proportion of members were not old enough to have seen Randall, Lowe and Reilly and therefore basing their decision on recent times. Not criticising their choice, only that it distorts the outcome. For example I consider Reilly our best ever lock and Randall one of our two best ever second rowers. The other second rower in my mind would be Menzies.. Opinion certainly but also having the advantage of seeing all those players in their prime.

I think Kosef is one of the most underrated players in our club's history. Such a shame that his career was cut short by injury as his talent was immense. Kosef/Gartner/Menzies was my favourite back row. Hard to say whether they were better than Stewart/Watmough/Menzies and it's bloody close. We've been blessed with some amazing back rows, something we're very much missing at the moment.
