pffft, my locale is set to sydney on this site, just so i know how cranky most of the posters will be. Early morning...late night = more cranky

I recommend that for everyone.

Of course, that doesn't mean I'm not liberal with the truth...just not so in this case! 😛:giggle:

Anyway...off to train for my 15th ultra marathon for this year!

(that's a straight up lie)

Players push for Trent Barrett extension as Sea Eagles coach
DAVID CAMPBELL, The Daily Telegraph
October 17

ONE of Manly’s biggest stars has backed Trent Barrett to lead the club long-term, saying the Sea Eagles should move quickly to keep the coach beyond the contract which runs out at the end of next season.

NSW and Australian representative forward Jake Trbojevic lamented Manly’s late-season form and exit from the finals but said Barrett was the man to lead the club forward.

“It was disappointing but where we’d come from the last few years it was exciting to play finals footy,” Trbojevic said.

“It only makes us more hungry for next year.

“(Barrett is) a good coach on the field and off the field he’s a great coach for club culture. I hope they sign him up long-term.”

Trbojevic’s wishes are likely to be granted, with Sea Eagles chairman Scott Penn telling foxsports.com.aua deal to keep Barrett on the Northern Beaches until the end of 2020 wasn’t far away.

Trbojevic was speaking to Big Sports Breakfast from Suva in Fiji where the Kangaroos squad has been preparing for its World Cup campaign.

Michael Maguire emerges as Brad Fittler’s biggest threat to NSW State of Origin coaching role
Paul Crawley, NRL, The Daily Telegraph
October 16, 2017 2:06pm

MICHAEL Maguire has emerged as Brad Fittler’s biggest threat in the race to replace Laurie Daley as NSW coach.

The NSW Rugby League board is set to meet on Tuesday, when the sacked South Sydney coach will be brought up as one of four contenders still in the fight for the job.

Fittler is still the clear favourite, while John Cartwright and David Furner are the other options

Manly fired Peters, if Carty gets the fulltime gig, Baz will need a new set of Assistant Coaches @

I saw this article too..................but its just a rehash of an old one.
Jake T's comments are old as is Penn's statement.

Bit odd they spat it out again.

@9_Moley

IT'S done peeps - Garth Brennan has got the @GCTitans coaching job.
Beaten Madge and Demetriou.

Well looks like TBaz doesn’t have too many options other than.

1) letting the 3rd year run and then going on the open market.

2) accept whatever offer is in the table for an extension.

I honestly think barrett is going nowhere and will re sign shortly. Just going through all the bull****. Manly would be mad to not keep him and trent would be mad not to stay . They are building nicely so why upset it all now .

Nup. Not old. He was interviewed on BSB yesterday at around 8.15 am. Was great to hear from our favourite giant puppy dog!

So Baz signs an extension now because he has no other options?
I think its better they bin the idea and revisit it in August next year

If Baz has the team firing, he gets whatever he wants, and if not, we all move on!

I don't see the need or desperation to lock him in now.
