Bateman

I'd have kept Humphries, Schuster was on too much coin for a player as inconsistent as he is.
Mestrov has recently said he wished the club could have held onto Humphrey's but the club just couldn't match the coin he was offered by Souths.

Not sure if Souths paid overs or if it's just another example of our cap predicament. But would seem he was rated.

Mestrov said tonight (MWRLFC AGM) that we only offered Humphreys minimum salary - but he wanted a crack at a starting halves spot, which we can't offer.

Well, it's pretty obvious with those comments Ritcho wants him gone. Bateman showing up for training after Christmas while his teammates have been sweating it out for nearly a month in pre season training. Talk about an awkward moment, when Bateman eventually does shows up for training, Definitely not ideal for both parties.
.

Just be curious whether there would still be a bit of money in the kitty signings wise after the Bateman non interest now .
Or whether the latest inclusion of a couple of backrowers or maybe even one or two more has taken up this slack .
Guess that time will tell

Marshall admitted he was unsure of whether or not Bateman would be back at the club next year – but insisted there has been no falling out between the pair.

What type of Head coach has no idea ?
Benjie has not fallen out with his player but has no idea if his player will be back training
The inexperienced head coach showing his Inexperience once again

It's obvious there's been a rift and Marshall is likely just pouring cold water on it, but to sweep it under the carpet and play dumb is pretty silly and lacks integrity, would be best to "not comment" then to act like all is good.

Well said Magnificent @maxta
No comment is much smarter than playing dumb

Bunnies are really taking advantage of the market (but particularly the lower tier teams). They will now have us, The Tigers and Dolphins paying chunks of their players salaries.

If Bob Fulton was still around, he'd make them pay, by forcing them to pay overs for all their players coming off contract. I miss that ruthlessness in recruitment.

Bunnies will be an interesting watch.

I know Wayne has a history of putting his arm around players and getting the best out of them but he is not a sure bet....look at Milford.

If they get Bateman and he goes into the mix with some big personalities like Latrell, Wighton, Schuster, Walker and Arrow....then throw in Dodd with all the pressure on him.

Dunno....they will just be an interesting watch, they could win it all or spectacularly combust and everything in between.

Telegraph had a short piece today on "Buff Bunny turns head at Souths training", and I knew it was going to be Jamie Humphreys, who looks like he's continued working out 23 hours a day over the off season. Bunnies posted these shots on Instagram:

Strong Manly influence there. Humphreys, the Schu (who never looks comfortable in training photos), Keppie and Fletcher Myers.
