Not sure if you were a member at the time but knowing the media trolls this site with Dans agreement , and a few others onboard , I concocted a ridiculous rumour about us secretly head hunting a major player at the time ( so long ago I forget who ) , basically I said the deal had been dine and would be announced at the end of the season , even quoting my “ inside knowledge “ at the time.

Within days it was all over the Telegraph, RLW etc and the player concerned was saying “ WTF”

Must be or could be getting close with the possible deal with Bateman if that figure of 350 K is any indication and if Manly had some real intent to sign him .
Maybe they could just maybe settle on a half way amount of 325 K to get close to an actual compromise but the references to other clubs possibly interested and maybe a bit more flexibility with their cap arrangements could alter things again .
Nothing to say that Chee Kam for that matter is not capable of having quite a bit more left in the tank and proving more then a useful edge consideration .
Very problematic with the Patolo suggestions ,
Hope that he can go well and offer something worthwhile but if it just comes down to Burbo going a bit better , which is a reasonable expectation then so be it .

I wouldn't completely rule out Bateman yet, fancy it could just be a bit of gamesmanship.

Though that is based on nothing but vibe.

I have this suspicion as well, especially given the lack of any other clubs' names being bandied about.

This one today quotes the Daily telegraph as now saying Manlys List is now full.

Another of today's articles certainly said Man no longer willing to move on 2 players to fit the Batman in.

So moving on a player could be a bigger impediment than the money in dispute a mere $25-100k it would seem.

All depends which player/s the club were considering shopping for mine.

Patolo is my bet to take Lawton's edge position by the end of season 2025. It might not happen in the first part of the season, but I think Seibold will play him on the edge in the pre-season, and NSW Cup initially. He looks like he has far more potential for us in that role than being added to our middle rotation.

Reckon there is a chance that Patolo may prove to be a good buy. Chatter on the Dogs supporters website indicates he was very well regarded and talented but has been held back by a series of serious injuries. So, if he can stay injury free he could be a 'good'un'.

Waddell isn’t there and sounds like he has re-signed. Taukeiaho isn’t there and will likely be upgraded from a train and trial deal.

That’s 28. I’d be surprised if Hoppa isn’t upgraded too. That’s 29.

Then we have Chee Kam, is he supplementary? Patolo who is train and trial and could be upgraded. Then Navale who is on a dev deal, but seems in the mix.
