We signed Walker as a solution to our five eight problem at the time. It appears this was done on the basis that he had played five eight in junior footy. When we signed him a friend of mine who is a fanatical Souths supporter told me that Manly had made a mistake trying to play him at five eight. I now actually think we didn't help his career playing him out of position.

Not in the early stages but really thought that Walker was a real asset as a 6 especially in 2019 or so , even his kicking game there was well up to par , including some well placed bombs . Hand full in attack , not a bad foil for D C E, adequate enough defence there . injuries and a couple of indiscretions certainly did not help then but couldn 't really see an issue with his open field 13 role also then . Centre role for Manly just not so influential in recent times , probably around 350 k . or just a bit more in his recent Manly role , probably 450- 500 K for a side like the Warriors as a centre again , that 's the way it goes

We never got the best out of Walker from 2016 to 2022. I still can’t believe we let gutho go and signed Walker.
