Star Sea Eagle Stewart set to leave Brookie

Brett Stewart has been offered to the Roosters as a replacement for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck next season.

A third party is handling negotiations, with the Roosters eyeing Stewart as the man to fill RTS’s boots following his decision to move to the Warriors.

Stewart remains unhappy at Manly - particularly since the club moved heaven and earth to retain Daly Cherry-Evans.

It is no secret that Stewart and Manly’s $10 million man Daly Cherry Evans don’t get on. It’s even worse now Cherry-Evans has signed a life contract while Stewart’s pleas for a contract extension have been ignored.

Anthony Watmough made enquiries about getting his great mate to the Parramatta Eels but salary cap pressure won’t allow it to happen.

But the Roosters could be a good fit for Stewart to play out the latter stages of his career.

Manly cannot afford to have snake, matai and Lyon all continually missing games injured over the next 2 years. Unfortunately we missed the boat to offload Stevie as no-one will take him now with his body the way it has gone downhill this year

nooooooo!!!! snake is the prince of brookvale. Surely he has to see out his career at brookie?? Give the man a 1 yr extension for F sake! His support and positional play is the best in the comp. He is also the only one who straightens our attack from second man and set plays. Tom will be in first grade for more than 80% of matches in 2016 with Lyon/Matai/Snake injuries.

Problem is a bit like Ballin. Snake is good enough to play next year but do you really want other clubs circling guntherson and Trejboievic. Small fullbacks are on the way out like robotic tackling machine hookers. Love both players and they will still be effective next year especially snake. But I fear 2017 is a bridge too far and the game has moved on.
