All we are saying, is Pearce off !

Can confirm that Roosters have denied Pearce ability to seek other opportunities after today's discussion with coach. Pearce was that filthy with decision (he's been told to consider his position) but Roosters adamant he will not play for another NRL team whilst under contract. Stalemate. Unless some club makes an awesome offer for Roosters to release ie $800K for player, up to $400K release fee - it ain't going to happen.

How to F%$@ your career up when your about to reach your peak! Doe this sound a bit like Killer? No comparison on offering, but the politics. Fair dinkum he must have "Pearced" off some people in the management team

Maybe English Super League ....Toronto Wolfpack?
The roosters would be better off letting him go because he is going to sulk for the next two years and they will waste their $800k

They should let him go as they badly need to sign a centre and prop as they won't win the comp with Cronk alone

So if Pearce stays, who will they let go ? Surely someone has to go, but what happens if they all refuse !
They say that they can keep all three, however this has been a massive slap in the face for Pearce by Robinson and Politis and it remains to be seen as to whether he swallows his pride and stays playing second fiddle to Cronk.

in this day and age no club will keep someone who wants out. too much risk of drama and splits in the dressing room. if the above is the case, itd be the first stage to making it beneficial to them. if they can make a buck they will, just like gus chucking a fee on moylan to test the waters. so you say no.... until someone makes it attractive enough to make it a yes. if he wants out, he'll get out in good time, if he doesn't, he'll stay.
Case in point, Mitchell Moses. No chance that the Rorters keep an unhappy Pearce on $800 000 only to kick stones for the next year. As soon as a player pops up that Uncle Nick deems as being an upgrade to the squad, Pearce will be sent packing with the kiss of death.

The Broncos are bad enough, but if the Rorters keep all their top guys it is a total mockery of the salary cap. How the fark are people making allegations against manly when **** like this is going on in broad daylight. The NRL and Greenturd are looking like total clowns here yet again.

Hmmm are they?
Seems to me no one actually cares as long as the old boys club is happy.

Roosters are just playing hardball - they know if they tell Pearce they want him to leave they weaken their bargaining position and will be forced to pay part of Pearce's contract to his new club.

If they try and sell everyone this total charade that they really want him to stay, when he does leave they believe they won't be left with a bill of any great amount.

When your selling something your starting position shouldnt be " Gee I'm desperate to sell make me an offer please I'll take anything ". Unless your the Wests Tigers and we're talking about Robbie Farah.

Well we won't hear anything for at least 3 - 4 weeks as Pearce is leaving for a 2 week holiday in Hawaii (wish I could do that!), then there will be more meetings, then the Roosters will price him out of all the other clubs budgets. My mate said that when he spoke to Pearce, he said he was told he was told not he couldn't talk about his situation - that's why he was angry when reporters cornered him yesterday.

Question here is that the field opens up tomorrow to negotiate with off contract players. Do we go and get quality players signed for 2019 or do we hang out waiting on something that most likely won't happen with Pearce?

Will Manly start negotiations with anyone....including coach when our incumbent new CEO doesn't start till Monday week. Would you take a CEO role when you have no input into playing roster?

Interesting The Sharkies can afford both Dugan and Pearce. The Broncos acquire Bird and wanted Taylor. The Chooks Tadesko and Cronk. Seems like Manly are the only ones unable to secure acquisitions. Sure Sipley and Gosiewski are decent Blacktown acquisitions, but come on now.

Could it be DCE's 8 year $1 million plus contract that is making it hard for Manly to sign anyone of note? Or Manly struggling to get 3rd party agreements? In any case it is disappointing that other teams seem to be attracting players but Manly is struggling.

You'd find I'd say DCE is one of our lower salary cap hit players, with 3rd party, and all the other benefits available, including marquee allownaces etc.

Anyone just think they don’t want to come?

Manly have a solid roster even now.

The rebuilding had its foundation laid in 2017. Excited watching the combos develop and individuals grow from 2018

The longer term 5/8 position, goal kicker and forwards leader just need to be resolved

CEO should hit the ground running and extend Baz, to enable a 5 year plan to be presented to potential recruits

:nerd:

100% spot on.

The roosters , Melbourne and Brisbane can sign 2 marquee players and never get looked at, we don't sign any and are scoped .

The Sydney Roosters have officially announced Mitchell Pearce's new role with the club in 2018!

I think a few clubs will be in trouble when the back ended contracts kick in. In my opinion, Manly are trying to deliver a longer term plan, so they do get caught up in these payments, especially given the scrutiny we get from the salary cap auditors. Des Hasler was a master of back loading player payments, others are doing the same I think.
