Clear to you that Sticky is the difference. Doesn't make it so.
Maybe he likes the Canberra fresh air. Or the fresh start.
Or maybe it's as simple as he's another year older?

.
Players do not Improve with just fresh air and with a just year older without great mentoring
There is more fresh air at Freshwater beach at picturesque Manly
Weekes is still a rookie with a hand full of NRL games and is playing his best footy under his new coach who has him playing with confidence
Coaches do make a difference and we will agree to disagree feathered friend

I agree totally. Playing with confidence and for a coach that believes in you makes the world of difference.

Okay, there’s obviously stuff we don’t know as to why we need another Centre/Winger.

If the ‘powers that be’ determine we need another Centre, then maybe there are some injuries we are all unaware of and we need depth in that position.

People on here ‘bagging’ the poor guy and he hasn’t even stepped foot on the field for Manly yet. At least give him a chance to prove himself, and if he is ****e, go right ahead and ‘bag’ him.
Mate the same people bagging him bag all
our players! I’ve said it before…..for some no player is worthy of wearing a Manly guernsey!

The talk in the off season on ST was brown, brooks and talu had nothing to offer

Lets see him play at manly,
Mate, can I ask you a question? What's your opinion on what a successful season is for us this year?

People are talking like we've been great. We've won just 50% of our games heading to Penrith Stadium.

It's like at 50% , the positive crew are trying to throw the teams performance in people's faces. Maybe Siebold's PR is rubbing off on the fans, and we have had a fantastic start to the year???

Its a very close comp this year. @Ryan I think any team that finishes with a 60% win/40% loss ratio can make the top eight. Right now the Dolphins in fourth spot are at 58%. The Storm are sitting in top spot at 73%. If we finish top six with a winning percentage of 60% or more, I will consider that we have had a successful season. I dont think any of the positive crew (myself included) believe that we have had a fantastic start to the year. However, I also believe that we are still capable of having a good end to the season. Go Manly.

I would LOVE a 60%+ win rate to finish this season mate. That's definitely contract extension worthy. Honestly, I'd say that's my yardstick, for being positive and upbeat.

Give me 60+, there will be absolutely no more whingeing

My opinion. Its a tough one @Ryan

A successful season is a building on improvement with the eye to challenging the top part of the 8. I see our efforts building but still lack the footy iq to provide anything but entertainment

No give ups would be the start. You cant win em all but how you lose them is just as important. There have been improvements in personal, the forwards have gone better but our overall game is still hit and miss. We have improved in some big moments but we still manage to reveal our mental frailties far too often

Even 21 many were saying before the finals we were cannon fodder due to the way we approach and play the game, and we were spanked in straight sets as poor options ruined our chances

The team has been in pretender status for too long. 21 wasnt that successful as we seemed to learn zilch from our finals games and experience. On top of that we seemed to gain an inordinate amount of confidence , as we failed to take in the reality of our position. But its stat we can use as evidence of success. Was it ?

I am always happy when manly have a dig. Win / loss is important but not how i determine the health our team. I see us improving under seibs but our guidance system is way off and many are happy with that

The dogs are rebounding after hitting rock bottom. Its where teams learn the most, ask the beagles, but our happiness for 12 th and our penchant for highlights over substance will always be around on ST

I dont know what makes 24 successful for me TBH , but they would have to get there skates on if they hope to impress

This season looks like many before, in or around the 8. Once origin is finished the comp gets real. Manly have plenty of work to do. The forwards start tying to beat up teams a bit because we are getting mathematically desperate and the sustained contact brings a flood of injuries or the excuse we seek

Same with des, likely same with seibs. Both will be blamed

I still hope for Manly but i do not rate us very highly, especially without a fully functioning Tom so my expectations are low and manly just keep meeting them

Positive fans have a place, as do realists . But there forum posts do not always gel.
Ive never met a negative manly fan , on ST i talk what i believe

but with other team fans we are the greatest, get rooted , we will smash you by 100, its our year I BS openly

Looked like a relatively poor defensive effort from the Blacktown lineup against the Bears , particularly in the 2 nd half and not to single out Schoupp but with 5 missed tackles , hardly a good look .
Then the previous week , 5 tackle busts listed so also equally , could have some good ability in this area but no idea really of the opposition's defensive calibre and in which also a heap of points were accumulated by both teams .
Anyway , in the Manly system now so can only wish him well and to play some good footy
Also still think it was disappointing to lose Weekes but realistically , would have had issues even making the Blacktown run on side and with all backline squad players available , i st grade and Blacktown .
Lehi likely Blacktown full back , unlikely in the wing and centre positions , maybe or a good chance in the halves even with Arthur and Humphries there .Would have definitely rated ahead of Wakeman one would think
Unfortunate again with Sam Fainu but trying to match or justify 500 k , not really a viable option , same with Latu

Completion rates at 69% and 67% is always going to hurt your defense.
The team are making too many errors

We have already covered that one - with a different cover version - Rhino. More than once. I think Wedge beat me to it initially, with your version.

Whoops, sorry fellas. People tell me I'm slow on the uptake, hahaha.
Have we announced Matt Orford yet?

Men that's the old Manly of the past. Back when the club cared about its members so much it treated them like a mushroom. Kept them in the dark and feed em ****.

If nothing else under the Mestrov and Seibold era has seen the club actually communicate and engage with its audience. What a novel concept for those in the insular peninsula.
