Ok so Hastings and Lussick kept the middle as tight as API normally would and the only reason API gets picked each week is luck, not that he does a better job than the other two mentioned?
You're not making sense.
with all due respect, you've missed the point. I never said the others missing didn't play a role and API's passing (good or bad) has nothing to do with missing him in defence. Also when the middle is not right, the edges compensate and are sucked in and the space opens up out wide...you hear coaches and post game discussions talk about this all the time.I have never said Api doesn't keep the middle tight, what I have said is that there was a multitude of factors in that game and when Api was in that situation last year with heaps of injuries things were not tight either so impossible to tell. I would have Api in my team every week but question his passing so will not write off Hastings to start after 1 single game where 9 players were out injured like you. I am from the Matt Ballin school of ball distribution and unfortunately for us Api is not even in the same hemisphere in this aspect, Hastings is, Cullen is not.
And using a 1 off game you could also argue that our middle was tight enough as none of the first half tries were scored in the middle, we leaked points on the edges.
Using your logic you are saying BJ, Sironen, Green have nothing to do with tightening up the middle nor 40 games of settling into the roll at the club.
It's pretty simple what I am saying; we missed API's defence...that's it.
If you don't agree, that's totally OK, it's your opinion, but I don't understand how you came to it. It has nothing to do with other players or circumstances from last year...
The question is did we miss API? I say yes. Were there other reasons we lost, I say yes. So I don't get your argument.
