There are many ( MANY) who were here for ages but have gone.

Generally I think the quality has degenerated in recent years, many seem to be unable to debate without resorting to personal attacks.

A good example of how it should be is the discussions between myself & @LeonardCohen , we disagree on many things, but I respect his views ( even if different ) and there is some common ground.

Couldn't agree with you more Mark. I've been posting since 2017, where's all the fun banter gone? People forget it's just a game of footy, and that's what we should be talking and focusing on. Not personal attacks on members, players, or anyone. I'm forever grateful I found this site all those years ago, and thank Dan for the amazing job he's done with it. Like you said Mark, there are many, many who are no longer on here and it is sad. I get the fact people can get very emotional or defensive or whatever the case, and yes we're all passionate about our team, but remember, we want to be hated by everyone else, not be hating on each other. I really hope one day, they do come back and as the great @BOZO says, "make this place great again"

I think people just have to respect that others can have different views.

I laugh at the comments from the ASC / ASS people , and especially if challenged to pick the next big thing after they sack the incumbent.

BUT

It’s their view , and I respect that they are entitled to that view.

Doesn’t mean they are right , or wrong.

Also doesn’t mean I’m right ( or wrong ).

Every one of us yearns for success and many of us were spoilt by those wonderful years between 2007-2013 , however without an uber rich benefactor , willing to throw 20-30 million a year in and not be concerned by it , I see us being perennially “ mid table “.

Sad , but probably fact.

So we need to just enjoy the times we do a little better ( last year a good example ) and not kill ourselves from within when we don’t.

Stokesy mate, don't know if you're joking or what ever and I don't give a FK, reason for this post is I'm answering to all the other post not just you OK Champ. Everyone has their opinions so STRONGER TOGETER, we all should stick together through thick & thin. So I hope all EX SILVERTAILS return none of this blocking each other. We all have our opinions to improve our teams, no need to fight but argue each other. Take it on the chin or ignore your fellow Eagles than life goes goes on. Another thing i've to say is yes we need someone with Eagles DNA. I don't want idiots who grew up hating Maroons & White, whishing we fail going for any other teams winning against us as many do so it's a NO NO for me and I can name a F#%@##Ken HEAPS Fittlers Roosters, Johns Knights, Slaters Storms U name it all hates Manly. LOOK AT THE HISTORY OF OUR COACHES.

Totally get your point ant that’s exactly why I have never blocked anyone in my 7 or 8 years on ST… but bozo kept going on with BS that I got bored of so I put him on block rather than argue with him…

Mate it was combative long before that… myself, @Woodsie, @BBTB, @kevinward and others had some great bitchfests long before a multi-coloured semi-circular band threatened the very foundations of our great club… and I don’t even pretend that we were the worst of it lol…

This comes from a place of morals. I am heavily opposed to AI in editing positions as someone who often creates and edits videos using the necessary manual methods. It applies across fields into photography too. It's a repulsion from someone simply not having the effort or authenticity to do what everyone else has to.

This is also based upon the questionable legality of this person stealing other people's articles and photos, proceeding to edit them into AI generated videos as to avoid copyright filters, and then passing it off as his own work.

He doesn't even bother to fact check. It had several facts wrong within the first minute or so of the video. The Moses to Roosters rumour was completely unsubstituted by Hooper, with no other source/journalist corroborating that story. Hooper effectively changed his choice of words to indicate that the rumour he started was a fact like gravity. As indicated here before, we have a grand total of four Issac Moses players at our club, which can be easily determined, and yet the video instead simply copies what a highly SSO ranked Fox League article said, likely the first result.

I simply cannot get behind that. It's lazy, unethical, and goes beyond fair use. Why should he be able to avoid the processes everyone else has to undergo? He doesn't use his face or real persona when doing these things, and hence cannot be held accountable. The rest of us in the broader field are.
