Good point that you make here and these are the things we can take for consideration
Tom is injury prone and he has been consistently off the field for periods of time .
Tom is still a Great Leader when he is fit to play even without a C next to his name
Jake is slowing down . His best years are behind him. He has been our Forwards leader But he has not been able to fire his pack up . So putting a C next to his name wont make any difference
These are my two Choices for C
Haumole is Growing In confidence and in Status . He has become our Most Inspirational and Destructive Player who can turn a game and lift his team mates and the C next to his name suits his Demeanor
Hopoate is a very Mature and Cool Customer under Pressure and the C next to his Name suits his Demeanour

I imagine it will be Jake. However I am not sure he brings the most essential quality in current-game captaincy, which is that you have to be able to speak well with the referees. Lots of guys can provide an inspiring physical example. But your captain must speak well and argue eloquently. Say what one likes about DCE,he absolutely had that quality. Jake, and most of our guys, I am not so sure. I'd back Tom for it, but of course he is injured too much.

Agreed with both choices as future captain specially Hoppa but still too young, Ola's ready I think.
The only thing about both these boys are, they don't talk enough (introvert). We need them to be an extrovert, they properly won't say too much behind the goal line. Things might change as they get older so maybe Jake for a year then Ola & Lehi co-captain.

I don’t think it needs to be a long-term thing as in, it’s not a generational/long term appointment like the Australian cricket captain. You can have a captain for a season or two seasons. I think Jake deserves to be captain at least for a season or two, however long he has left.

Captains get a bit of leniency from the refs, Jake needs all the help he can get to not get done for 6-agains.

Cant believe Jake is leading the poll, he's a plodder this year if we where to strengthen our forward pack he'd be due less minutes next year, 3 yeas ago sure.... now that's insane. Plus he's penalized far to many times every game to be an effective leader and that not effect his relationships with Referee's
