Can anyone give me any more insight into nanai being on the bench for that long? I know Payten said he wanted a more aggressive performance from nanai before the game and was unhappy with his performance last week. He is normally a 80 minute or around there player. Was it planned or did Payten axe him or because of the speed of the game? Just curious

I thought Manly's game got moved last week because of a clash with the afl but wasn't last night game played next to the swans v gibberers match?

Yeah, I dont get it... HAS to be a salary cap thing but I reckon they have got their priorities wrong as Val is the centrepiece of a lot of their backline incisions... and then add in his 85-90% goal-kicking and ability to nail a 2pt FG... weird call imo
Val was playing sh*t earlier in the season when the decisions were made.
Agree, then Thurston goes on to say thar the Cowboys are in a good place with the spine all sorted. Really, just adequate tbh, and now without your best back and goal kicker and minus Feldt as well.

I think they are hoping rather than convinced that Clifford is the right 7... elite 9 and 6 but I remain totally unconvinced on their 1...
I agree that the value of Val and Feldt to their backline movements is being seriously under-valued... Val creates space, has an outstanding offload and Feldt's ability to finish a try (or pluck one out of the air) is up there with the best in the game...
Edit: FYI Feldt scored more tries, made more tackle breaks and ran for more metres than Taulagi this year... he played more games but we are not talking "by a little bit" on any of those stats...
I see them going backwards rather than forwards next season...

An easy way for the NRL to shorten the season by two weeks: get rid of the predictable preliminary finals matches between teams 5 to 8.
We all know the teams that finish in the top four are the real contenders for the premiership. The other four teams in the finals are just there to add to revenues and make it appear that those teams had a 'successful' season.
