RIVALS CIRCLE EELS STARS AS NOV 1 FREE FOR ALL APPROACHES

Eels forward Marata Niukore has kicked off the free for all on a number of Eels players as of November

The Australian’s Brent Read reported on Triple M that Niukore, who is one of a number of Eels players free to sign elsewhere from November 1, has spoken to a number of rivals.

“It is heating up for Parramatta,” Read said on Triple M.

“We all talk about November 1, but you can talk to players any time you want. You just can’t table a deal until November 1 and put a deal in front of them.

The Gold Coast Titans are set to release Jamal Fogarty from the final two years of his contract, which will allow the playmaker to link up with the Canberra Raiders.

Multiple outlets are reporting Fogarty's impending move to Canberra, which has been brewing for several weeks, is expected to be announced soon with the Titans softening their stance on keeping the halfback to his contract.

Max King to the Bulldogs for next year. Whoever he is.
I knew this much: He started at the Titans before going to the Storm. His father, David, was a prop for the Gold Coast Seagulls in the 90's and his grandfather is the great St George winger Johnny King. And from Wikipedia, I learned that his great grandfather, Cec, played wing for Souths in the 40's.

WALKER’S NEW MANLY DEAL NOT SET IN STONE AS RIVALS CIRCLE

Manly utility Dylan Walker’s contract extension with the Sea Eagles is not yet over the line, with reports he may attract offers from NRL rivals.
Brent Read reported on Triple M that Walker may explore his options as his contract negotiations with Manly drag into the off-season.
“Dylan Walker is probably the best player without a contract yet for next year,” Read said.
“There was a bit of a whisper going around this week about Dylan Walker that maybe he mightn’t stay at Manly.

“I have spoken to Manly about it and they think he will stay, but there was just a suggestion going around that maybe he will leave and he may have offers from elsewhere.
“He is close to Trent Barrett too so the Bulldogs might be in the hunt.”
Walker has scored 65 tries and 344 points in 163 games for the Rabbitohs and Manly since his debut in 2013 and scored five tries in 20 games last season.
However Walker was moved from five-eighth to accommodate Kieran Foran and was then moved from centre to the bench with Morgan Harper and Brad Parker the preferred centre pairing in 2021.

Luke Thompson has been taken off the open market with Canterbury telling rival NRL clubs their $850,000-a-year prop is no longer for sale.

In a move that will end speculation about the English forward’s future, Thompson has been told his place at Belmore is guaranteed for at least another two years.

The Warriors and Sharks are about to be entangled in another contract stoush, this time involving rising half Luke Metcalf.

The Warriors want Metcalf to join the club immediately and are prepared to stump up significant cash for the 22-year-old. He has been earmarked to partner ex-Shark Shaun Johnson in the halves at the club. But the Sharks are standing firm.

They are adamant Metcalf, who is on a development deal next season, will need to see out the final 12 months of his contract. The Sharks junior only returned to the club this year after a short stint with Manly. He played six games after making his debut.
