What I would give if he could go on keeping his speed in those latter years to match his experience and smarts… great player indeed
I remember the try he scored in the 2011 GF against the Warriors, it came late in the second half and was the sealer. All guts, and snuffed out a Warriors comeback in the 2nd half, what a Captains knock. One of my all time Fav players..

I wish I could remember the try, I was unable to find a highlight of this try but the torso try was back in round 9 2009 games. (google search)

One of my all time favorite players - amazingly footballer with strength and speeds

What a Class centre Jamie Lyon was in our great dominant Grand final winning Manly back line

Amazing footballer indeed @##fanboy88

He had the speed , skill and strength to dominate the opposition

Manly have been blessed with dominant premiership winning centres

that thrilled our fans and killed the opposition

Absolutely feathered friend

Speed is King in all sports

Speed is the dominant factor

Speed is the Ultimate X factor and excitement creator that puts bums on seats and kicks arse on the football arena

Slow is not the way to go in any race . Slow is a liability . There is absolutely no advantage of being slower than your opposition in any sport .

Speed Kills and the Killer Jamie Lyon at his Prime was a Supreme Sea eagles centre

Love you Jamie . I hope you are enjoying your retirement feathered friend

They were also part of a destructive backline as well

What Joy it is being a Manly Sea eagles supporter !

The NRL will launch the 2022 season by pitting the game’s two best players against each other, with Nathan Cleary’s Panthers set to square off against Tom Trbojevic and the Sea Eagles in a blockbuster season-opener.

The Herald can reveal the eagerly anticipated opening-round fixtures for the 2022 season will be headlined by the premiers kick-starting their title defence on home soil against the Sea Eagles on March 10.

The Panthers will be hoping their superstar halfback, who is racing the clock to return from a shoulder operation, is on deck for the battle against Trbojevic and the Sea Eagles.

As first reported by the Herald last month, Adam Reynolds will don the Broncos jersey for the first time against former club South Sydney in a mouth-watering Friday night clash at Suncorp Stadium.

2022 NRL Round 1 Fixtures

  • Panthers v Sea Eagles
  • Warriors v Dragons
  • Broncos v Rabbitohs
  • Raiders v Sharks
  • Roosters v Knights
  • Tigers v Storm
  • Eels v Titans
  • Cowboys v Bulldogs
As first reported by the Herald last month, Adam Reynolds will don the Broncos jersey for the first time against former club South Sydney in a mouth-watering Friday night clash at Suncorp Stadium.

The match will also double as Rabbitohs coach Jason Demetriou’s first game in the post-Wayne Bennett era, squaring off against the team where he was once an assistant under the veteran coach.

Wests Tigers have been dealt a bittersweet hand, rostered to open the new Tim Sheens era against the juggernaut that is the Melbourne Storm.

While Craig Bellamy has never lost a round-one game as coach of the Storm, there will be significant challenges next year when his team travels to CommBank Stadium for the opening-round game against Michael Maguire’s Tigers.

They will be without suspended duo Cameron Munster and Brandon Smith, who both copped one-game bans for the white-powder incident in Queensland just over a month ago. The Storm have also lost Dale Finucane, Nicho Hynes and Josh Addo-Carr to rival clubs.

The new-look Bulldogs, led by Matt Burton, Paul Vaughan, Tevita Pangai jnr, Matt Dufty and Addo-Carr, have been handed a relatively easy start to the year. They will square off against the North Queensland Cowboys in what is expected to be the final game of the round on Sunday night.

Craig Fitzgibbon’s tenure as Sharks coach will begin against former premiership-winning teammate Ricky Stuart when Cronulla take on the under-pressure Raiders.

Fitzgibbon has added Finucane, Hynes, Cameron McInnes and Matt Ikuvalu to the side he agreed to coach following the controversial sacking of John Morris earlier this year.

St George Illawarra have also been busy in the recruitment market over the past six months. They have added Jaydn Su’A, George Burgess, Aaron Woods, Moses Mbye, Francis Molo and Moses Suli to their roster for 2022.

It is an important year for coach Anthony Griffin, who needs a strong start to convince the club to activate an option for a third year in his contract. The Dragons are on the road to Queensland in round one to take on Shaun Johnson and the New Zealand Warriors.

The Parramatta Eels, who finished the year strongly despite bowing out to Penrith in week two of the finals, will take on the much-improved Gold Coast Titans on home soil.

Connor Watson won’t have to wait long to play against his former club, with the Sydney Roosters recruit to face off against best friend Kalyn Ponga and the Newcastle Knights at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

How many first games of the season have we won in the last 15 years?

Not many from memory

Full draw is out 11am today as I read somewhere that's when the NRL is going to launch it.

I just rang the NRL and I was informed that the full draw will be released next Tuesday. It was meant to be today but there is a delay and they postponed it till next week.
I was hoping it was out today

I bet they want to try and get it out to maximise coverage. Today is a slow news day so I can see why they have done this but i wanted it out

No draw today as was originally anticipated. At this stage we understand it's been delayed til early next week. Updates to come - and no doubt more leaks across the weekend

Probably had to re check the draw for parra. It was too tough. Not enough home games and playing the top teams twice.

There was an awesom You tube video up around the time Jamie was at st Helens and coming to us, The music was "Dont Stop me now" by Queen, Ive searched everywhere for that clip, was a great song to match his genius as a footballer.

Does anyone have the clip?

This is confirmed from NRL website

Full draw released tomorrow morning alongside the women's draw also. Don't know time but would be between 10am-12pm time frame.
