I read that as "look , we know you were being a smart arse racist pr*ck but we don't want this to be dragged out in the media so we'll fine you for D&D & send you off for "education", implying it will include teaching you not to say dumb racist things"

The "education" program will be held at the Sydney Fish Markets and cover how to spot a cephalopod from a human.

The Melbourne Storm stood down forward Tui Kamikamica on Friday after he was charged over an alleged incident involving a woman outside a Brisbane hotel.
In a statement, the Storm said they were made aware of the charges on Thursday afternoon and immediately advised the NRL Integrity Unit.

“Due to the seriousness of the allegations, the club made the decision to stand down Kamikamica, pending his plea in response to the allegations, the NRL Integrity Unit investigation and the club concluding a formal, in-person interview with Kamikamica, who remains out of state. This will take place next week,” the Storm said in a statement.

“Storm believes firmly that there is no place in the game or society for violence against women at any time, in any circumstance.

These are pretty serious charges, sounds like it was an all out assault on a person and vehicle. What's Milford's contract, if it's a 1yr deal, Souths will be thanking their lucky stars. But then again, Sths probably have a get out clause if Milf stuffs up, like he has here.

Is he being stood down on the same 'No fault" policy of Fainu and de Belin?
If the legal system is as slow as it has been with the above two players then we won't be seeing Milf any time before 2023.

He is un-contracted so can't be stood down, they won't register him though so stood down by proxy.

Serious matters that have to go to District Court, especially jury trials, have been far harder hit by Covid delays (and they were already scandalously slow even before the pandemic).
Milford's charges should be resolved in the local court. Could be quite fast if he pleads guilty, but players usually plead not guilty, have to wait to get a hearing date, and try to do some late negotiations on the hearing day. So could be months for Milford (but not years)

Thankfully for Milford’s case it’s in Brisbane,so no such delays in court appearances up here
