The biggest concern for me is the work rate required in the role and the knock on effect that will happen if whoever gets the gig can't meet the requirements.
IMO one of DCE's biggest problems has been trying to fix the problems of others. If the 9 is suffering then he will come into dummy half more and start helping with the defence through the middle. It may seem commendable but it stuffs our defensive structures and takes his focus away from his attacking game. The same goes for Jake, he just can't help trying to fix someone else's problem rather than focusing on his job and we lose quality runs and offloads for poor dummy half runs that go nowhere. I think it has improved in the last year under Des, so hopefully this doesn't see them regress.

Problem is that Nase is already charged and the Police resources may not be directed at finding the man on the run

This means that he has to await a Court date and that may take over a year :(

For a religious mob the real question is why Nase was named and what punishment there is in their Church for allegedly lying @

Quite a few converted halfs of course for Manly who made the transition well , Tooves , Monas [ even Des at one stage, Shane Dudley , maybe even others . Even A P I was a converted half . . Fair enough most were high calibre players but on a positive, both Cust and Croker are still individually quite reasonable footy players , both have a bit of size about them and have a reasonable familiarity now of the present Manly structures . Don 't think that it can be said definitively right now that either could not make a decent fist of playing effective roles as 9 's . Recall also once that the back rower of 2014 or so Daniel Harrison filled in well there for Manly in a finals game but our current group of back rowers don't seem real suited for that role . Just in regard to other witnesses being able to maybe help Manase "s present difficult situation , they seemed [ if they actually exit ] very restrained just after the alleged incident and certainly leading up to the first court appearance for Manase . Certainly if they are really out there somewhere , they should offer their assistance real soon .

Not sure if this will help Nase or not, but we need to find this guy:

The thing that worries me the most about losing Fainu is the impact it has on our ability to score points. We are very predictable without him and the only way to score points against the top sides (Roosters, Melbourne, Raiders) is to throw something unconventional at them. If you go off last season, we were largely ineffective in attack against quality teams because we don't have amazing structure like Melbourne nor do we have amazing individual flair like the Chooks. It is pretty much Tom T or Fainu to break something open.

Our attack is largely based on working towards what the team calls a 'surge'. It is where we work the opposition around and throw a big body like an AFB to try and get a quick play-the-ball. From there, Fainu's job is to basically to run and everyone push up with him and play 'eyes up' footy. It worked perfectly the day we played the Eels at Brookie. When we started struggling a little at the back end of the year, teams were slowing down our ruck considerably and we couldn't use the 'surge'. We had limited structure to fall back on and struggled to score points.

Our best chance of scoring points is currently on bail.

Edwin Ipape!?

Our best wishes should go to the young PNG fella, what a chance for him.

Having travelled to PNG and seen how they live up there an opportunity like this would be life changing for him.

Opportunity knocks and what better player to open the number 9 door for us than the opportunist him self...... the Evasive , Explosive and Enterprising Edwin Ipape .

Beware of the black Superman man who is hungry for success

What a try !!! Edwin Ipape made it look so easy against the English national team

The master of disaster Edwin Ipape strikes as he deceivingly looks to his left from dummy half and appears to be setting up play in that direction .

Edwin Ipape sees a gap up the middle of the field evades one desperate tackle and explodes into the clear

Edwin Ipape evades another player with his blistering pace and bursts his way to the try line leaving players in their wake to score near the posts with out a hand on him

Fast between the ears and fast on his feet . The raw Edwin Ipape was just way too good for his experienced and illustrious opponents .

What a fcking try by a fcking freak of a player

This is no NSW cup highlight reel...... Edwin Ipape looks like the real deal

Never ever saw Fainu score a blistering try like that from 65 metres out

Fainu is a very good player but we have a very good coach and a very good squad of players and are way above a one man team .

Play it again Sam ..... I can watch this all day
