Former Parramatta coach Daniel Anderson is set to be handed a route back into NRL as a recruitment specialist with Sydney Roosters.

The 54-year-old is to link up in the Roosters front office with former Manly chief executive Joe Kelly, who was himself suspended for 12 months last March for his part in a salary cap breach at the Sea Eagles.

But according to the newspaper’s report, he has been given the green light to take up the new role at the Roosters after convincing the NRL he is “a fit and proper person befitting registration”... after greenburg and the dalai looked him square in the eye and then they just knew, they ...just...knew.

Sharks interview two candidates for coach vacancy
Cronulla have stepped up their search for a new coach by interviewing two leading candidates this week.

Sharks officials met with interim coach John Morris and Penrith assistant Cameron Ciraldo about the head coach role made vacant by Shane Flanagan’s resignation last month.

According to NRL.com, Morris is the favourite for the role and has the support of the Sharks playing group after accepting the role on an interim basis following Flanagan’s departure.

Ciraldo is considered an up and coming coach, but Panthers officials remain confident he will remain loyal to the club.

It is expected the Sharks will name their new head coach before their first trial match.

Michael Ennis has urged Cronulla to pursue dumped Penrith coach Anthony Griffin as they race the clock to replace Shane Flanagan.

Ennis said the Sharks needed a strong personality who is capable of putting their stamp on the playing group.

“I’ve been really strong on this — that this playing group at Cronulla needs an experienced coach,” he continued.

“They need someone who is an instructor, who is also a dictator, and has that really good balance of being able to listen to the playing group but being able to put his authority on the group.”

Cronulla has settled on John Morris as the coaching replacement for Shane Flanagan, but there could be more changes at the top for the embattled club.

There is growing speculation chief executive Barry Russell could soon be parting company with the Sharks after less than a year in the role.

I wonder if Blayke Brailey will do a story saying that he signed with Parra because of what he saw in BA's eyes? Or will he just say that it was just the money?
Eels prepare the raiding party
Sharks fans should prepare themselves to lose the youngest Brailey brother, Blayke.

The NSW under-20s hooker and member of Brad Fittler's emerging Blues squad this year, Brailey has received a $1 million offer from Parramatta.

Melbourne have also shown interest.

Both Blayke and his family know that his chances of becoming the first-choice hooker at the Sharks are slim given the quality of which brother Jayden has shown in just two seasons.

It's also been suggested that Blayke's parents want the extremely tight brothers to play for different clubs instead of causing any angst between each other as they battle for the Cronulla number 9 jumper.

The Roosters have snapped up Leigh halfback Drew Hutchison from England as the possible long-term replacement for veteran Cooper Cronk.

A former Dragon and Junior Kangaroo, the 23-year-old had a breakout season for Leigh last year to earn a deal with the Roosters.
