Ok, now that the NRL season is over and the league have got their preferred non-Sydney premiers.....its time for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

Which Manly players will make any of the squads?

Can Australia continue its domination or will the Qld contingent choke like they did in 2008? Remember, it was Lockyer dropping the ball over the line and Slater's panic pass to Benji which went a long way to NZ winning that one.....

For mine there will be a few Sea Eagles to cheer for as they run around in international colours over the next few weeks.

Australia - Tom Trbojevic, Jake Trbojevic, Daly Cherry-Evans, Api Koroisau
New Zealand - Martin Taupau, Lewis Brown
Fiji - Akuila Uate
Samoa - Frank Winterstein, Matthew Wright
Tonga - Addin Fonua-Blake

Bring on the World Cup. At least its on 7 or 7mate so we won't have to put up with the constant dribble we get from the idiots at Nein.

The more Manly players selected, the higher the risk of losing more to long term injuries

With the Kiwis so depleted, it will be a UK v Roos final

The Islander Nations will hopefully be peppered with some NRL players

Those manly players seem about right, I don’t think AUS will pick DCE with Munster and Morgan there though, maybe even Maloney.

Also i was just messing around creating teams, would love to see these lineups so hopefully it’s not just another AUS vs NZ final with AUS winning again.

Didn’t bother with Ireland, Wales, USA and France as there’s barely any NRL influence.

Surely Addo-Carr must now come into contention for a wing spot for Australia. He's been outstanding this season. And he continues the fine tradition of discard Tigers' players excelling at their new clubs.
I have mentioned this before; if the Tigers had retained players they'd have won recent premierships.

Yeah i just think its a bit of circus event these days. Heritage cup for alot of thr European teams.
Imo play it over 4 weeks with 4 seeded nations aus, eng, nz, samoa to play each other 2 twice.
Have png, france, wales, fiji, tonga in other pool.
Likes of Scotland, ireland, italy, Lebanon are heritage bull**** sides

unfortunately i don't like his chances, he couldn't even make the pm's team v p.n.g. so good news for manly but bad news for dce personally

From what I heard, DCE was Mal's original choice for halfback, but he declined because his wife was due to give birth and he didn't want to be overseas, even if only in PNG.

Wouldn't be surprised to see AFB in the Kiwis squad
Yeah I think he might be selected for the Kiwis as well. He was picked in the train-on squad last year so they have their eye on him. He had another reasonably solid NRL season this year as well, which could only but help his chances. If NZ don't pick him though, then he is most definitely being called up by Tonga. Either way he will most likely appear in this World Cup.
