We have re-signed Willyarmy for another two years and are chasing Blake Green who wants to stay with the storm

Our recruitment has certainly gone to **** recently

ACKLE 2 - GREENER PASTURES BECKON FOR MANLY
Struggling Manly has finally put its cards on the table in a bid to sign a halves partner for Daly Cherry-Evans.

We've been told the club has made a $700,000 offer to poach Melbourne five eighth Blake Greenon a two-year deal.

The problem is that Green would prefer to stay in Bleak City. He's struck up a slick combination withCooper Cronk at the Storm and, like just about every player who has worn purple, loves playing under Craig Bellamy.

But fledgling Manly coach Trent Barrett also has his appeal. The pair played one season together at the Sharks in 2009.

Green has already met with Manly officials in person - and is now waiting on the Storm to make a call.

Melbourne won't be able to match the Sea Eagles' offer, but there is an opening in the halves for 2017 with Luke Keary joining the Roosters and recruitment staff going cold on Broncos utilityKodi Nikorima.

Manly also face a fight to retain improved prop Siosaia Vava, with Parramatta showing interest in the 115kg Tongan.

The Sea Eagles have re-signed speedster Brayden Williame for another two years, and are also in talks to snare young Raiders talent Brenko Lee.

Steve Menzies to take over as Manly coach?

It's just one of the strange rumours/suggestions being floated as the Sea Eagles endure the season from hell.

The 'Oh, so you hate Manly? Well, go f*ck yourself' Facebook page posed the question: 'Is this man the answer' above a photo of Beaver and attracted dozens of comments.

Menzies, of course, is not the answer and has no interest in coaching but it just goes to show how desperate Manly fans – unaccustomed to failure – have become.

Trent Barrett was always going to be under the pump as one of the few outsiders to coach Manly.

He has been hit hard by injury but a six-game losing streak is still not acceptable at a proud club like Manly.

The Sea Eagles' record for consecutive losses is eight and next up they face North Queensland in Townsville.
