Sea Eagles chasing Bozo
Lots of former players have done well in life and business after football - none more so than Immortal Bob Fulton.
It's why there are moves behind the scenes at Manly to get Bozo onto the Sea Eagles board.
He's played, captained and coached the team to premierships but has always knocked back administration roles.
Manly's godfather Ken Arthurson is behind the move which he hopes will finally bring peace among the directors. Expect an announcement that Bozo will stand for the club board soon.
More to Seymour drama
The Brett Seymour case had made national news in Britain – and it's about to take a dramatic twist.
Seymour crashed his car last week and his wife claimed the former Broncos and Sharks star, now with English club Hull, was attempting to take his own life.
I can't say much because police are currently investigating, but watch the papers in coming days for developments that will create more headlines.
Earl cops a spray
The Josh Dugan / Blake Ferguson drama isn't the only source of tension down Canberra way.
I'm told players and coach David Furner tore strips off flashy winger Sandor Earl after he had an absolute 'shocker' in the loss at Penrith last Sunday.
Earl made error after error and his team-mates let him know exactly what they thought of his effort in ugly scenes in the sheds after the loss.
Hodgson to call it quits?
Former Wests Tigers favourite Brett Hodgson is considering retirement – because a series of head knocks have him suffering memory loss.
Hodgson, famously rag-dolled by Gorden Tallis in Origin football, has been a star for English club Warrington this year but head injuries over the years – and the problems they are causing him – have him contemplating hanging up the boots.
Warriors miss out on Iosefa
The New Zealand Warriors have already pressed the panic button after one loss. The Warriors, without injured hooker Nathan Friend for an extended period, made a bid for Robbie Farah's back-up at Wests Tigers, Masada Iosefa, this week after their heavy loss at Parramatta.
But the Tigers, who will need Iosefa when Farah is on State of Origin duty, knocked back the request.
