2013 Rumoured and confirmed signings.

I doubt we will see any big name signings at Manly for the next few years. Our successful recruitment model appears to be the same as the Storm's. Like them we have a strong spine in our 1, 6, 7, and 9. This spine is quite expensive. This means that, like Melbourne, we also find underrated forwards and pick them up cheap. If those forwards continue to improve then they become too expensive and move on.

And the cycle continues..........

How in the hell are we ever going to afford any of the names being bandied about here?

I know, but at least it gives us something to yack on about while we count premierships.

Blake Ferguson to ask Canberra for a release from the remainder of his contract so he can move to Sydney to be closer to Anthony Mundine. WTF?

Bulldogs are looking for there 4th replacement for Barba.

The Raiders, or any club, should be massively compensated for when ungrateful pricks like Carney,Dugan now Ferguson decide to do the dirty on them so they can go and sign somewhere else. It's just garbage and the NRL has no balls to boot them out of the game for a year or 2.

Souths are releasing players after signing the Burgess clan.

Both Carney & Dugan were sacked but give Ferguson 6months and he will be sacked as well.

The Raiders do have a contract. They could just simply not release him.

With the cloud hanging over Ferguson I'm surprised any club would touch him at the moment.

Couldn't agree more. The players have signed a contract and if they want to break it then they should sit out at least a season or the rest of the contract with their existing club before being allowed to sign with another club.

The NRL did it to Tallis and should show some leadership for a change.

Technically the NRL didn't sit Tallis out for year. He decided to do that himself. The ARL said his contract with the Dragons couldn't be broken, and in fairness to Tallis, instead of playing half hearted and taking the cash he decided to sit it out. Costing him some money at that point in time but more than likely made up for it during Super League.

when ferguson left cronulla his excuse was because he wanted a better chance of winning a premiership. given that, canberra was always a strange choice. I guess he has realised it isn't going to happen any time soon with canberra so he is off again

I sympathise with canberra, as they do seem to make the tough calls and sack players who then go on elsewhere and excel. however you also have to question what on earth is going on at that club for so many young players to go totally off the rails

It also cost him a grand final appearance. Same as Ian Roberts who also sat out the 1996 season. Roberts was great player, but for sitting out a season because of SuperLeague, I'm glad he never won a premiership. Unfortunately, Tallis did,

Ian didn't sit out the season - he just missed out due to injury, and on the Finals that year and lost himself the opportunity of a GF.

Due to serious financial issues (defrauded by some Financial Planner) he was forced into accepting the Super League monies. 🙁
