Remember that sunny day like it was yesterday.:inlove:

Rick was a cute and pesky half that tormented the Roos Captain Greg Pierce all game :p

Pity Rick was flicked by Arko for his off field bad behaviour.
He died young from some cancer RIP

He won the battle of the mustaches that day over grinner Pierce...

How old is the great man Boze?
Could look it up but takes the fun out of it...

63 HE. What I had forgotten is that he played on the wing for the Balmain Grand Final team in 1988. He played his last year with them in 1989, but was not selected in their GF squad.
That was after the gym with Eadie and Randall went belly up I think. Eadie went to Halifax and Russell was still young enough to get an NRL gig. Randall went back to building, which he still does today, I believe.

Today marks the 40th year since Manly Warringah Sea Eagles beat Cronulla Sharks 16-0 in the 1978 NSWRL Grand Final.

Played on Tuesday, September 19, in front of 33,552 following the 11-all draw three days earlier in the premiership decider at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the grand final replay was Manly's sixth game in 24 days.

No smiling in those pics! Just mean af glares!

You notice in post #52 the comment was "a crowd of ONLY 52,000 turned up."

Beattie and tg would think that was awesome.

Steve Knight looked big on tv . He looked as big as big Mal . Very powerful and agile back
I found this article . I was not aware he started in union .
