trotted out with I did what makes my family happy when resigning, did he once ever mention how much he loved Manly??? Brett has been carrying a chip on his shoulder for a few months and I hope he loses it very soon.

I have noticed this about Matai and Snake as well and it is seriously concerning. Matai signed with us because we offered the most $ and his family didn't want to move. That's hardly a glowing endorsement on the club.
After supporting them for so many years I find it hard to believe all those players are a-holes. 1 or 2 maybe, but 5??? There must be a good reason they are all so unhappy.
12 months ago we had a culture where players all loved playing together and most (if not all) were happy to take unders to keep it that way. Now most of them can't wait to get out of the joint and even those that stay don't look like they want to be there. I know there are exceptions like Ballin, but the majority of our superstars just don't seem to have any love for the club whatsoever.
Is it simply getting rid of Gift that caused all this? If so, anyone who was a part of that decision should be fired immediately. They should have been close enough to the playing group to see this coming. The fact is that it simply couldn't have turned out any worse than it has.
If it was something else then the club needs to work out what it is and deal with it swiftly and effectively.

Unfortunately the eels will need the other half of the Manly players for them to make a real Manly team and go all the way to the top .

You know what I am actually getting really, really annoyed at our management and Foz.

So it was fine for management to get Toovey to take the coach role when it suited them? When the coach they had at the time chose money over Manly and tried to destroy the club on the way out.

Toovey did an incredible job through that extremely tough time and has been doing an incredible job IMO ever since.

So what the heck is going on?

I mean even Watamouth was even quoted saying this about Tooves a while back.

He has been taken so much crap since Des left but continues to face up.

And as for Foz..........well Foz almost left to the Dog$ years ago and is carrying on like a spoilt little brat now. If anyone should be dropped to the reggies, it is Foz. Don't give him an early release, don't pander to him, don't offer him a revised more $$$ contract. His form was rubbish at the end of last year and he has been walking around like he has the world on his shoulders. I think he has a major attitude problem and needs to be taught a lesson.

Anyway, I am ropable at the moment and knowing that Foz has agreed to terms with the squeels makes me furious. When did this happen, when did our management know and who is telling the truth?

I think Foz may be far more toxic than DCE has ever supposedly been. He is definitely not captain material in my mind...!

Tomorrow night I will be going to support the likes of Toovey, Killer, Buhrer, JSL, Matty Ballin, etc. The ones who posses the real spirit of Manly, the ones who see past the BS and put in for the jersey and play football which is what they are paid to do.

The squeels can have Foz but next year because over there they have no spirit, so he will fit in nicely.

I tried to look for some photos of Brad Arthur in battle, but i note he didn't actually play a game of first grade.

Who wouldn't want to play for this guy. It beggars ****ing belief.

Ricky Stuart was a fantastic player....
Bellamey pretty average....
Maguire average player
Bennett never played at the top level
Cleary was an average to good player

I would say that Hasler is one of the few top notch players (and some could argue that) in the current game who is a successful coach

Yes exactly right.

I made a point a day or so ago that perhaps 2V needs a "people manager", that tag teams him and deals with the players and their issues.

A very good example would the QLD Origin team, if anyone thinks Smellmafinga does the coaching then they are on the ju ju beans, all he's there for is to fire them up.

He's surrounded by other coaches, and for 8 straight years its worked a treat.

I'm sure Tooves is passionate, I'm sure he's good at tactics but it sounds like he's shyte at dealing with the young players.

I reckon Foz is praying that Joke does pull the offer. In fact he's probably pissed off that it hasn't happened considering what happened with $CE. He can then continue on how conflicted he was about the whole decision making process and try and save face. Problem is we all know he was always going to the Eels.

laurie daley is ok. But no idea how he would go in first grade coaching. Trent robinson played 3 nrl games. Paul green is going ok. He is a former state of origin and Australian halfback.
