Cronulla Sharks skipper Paul Gallen invested in a property with a director of a company that became a major team sponsor months later, but club officials are confident his dealings will escape censure by an NRL investigation into salary cap breaches.

https://www.smh.com.au/national/sha...alary-cap-investigations-20190227-p510os.html

Todd to use discretionary powers of inconsistency to say that unlike Manly and their cap issues (ie not paying a player one more cent than listed) Gallen's financial gain from a major sponsor is "nothing at all to see here."

How can they escape penalty for that when we were penalised for 5 or 6 of our players receiving the use of cars from Brookvale Mazda who ended up becoming a club sponsor!

The NRL announced club sponsors are not allowed to sponsor players and we were breached because of it.

When are the biased media hacks going to call out Greenturd on his obvious inconsistencies when it comes to dealing with certain clubs.

What’s the difference with Gallen dealing with a club sponsor and our players doing it?

Probably the same difference between our salary cap breach of organising 3rd party dealings and Penrith organising Maloney’s 3rd party dealings....nothing! @

Yeah right-o Todd. A club has been found to have systematically rorted the cap over the last few years, gave their players illegal drugs, and had a coach who blatantly disregarded orders and contacted the club when he wasn't allowed to (club did nothing about this, I might ad, but the media haven't pointed that out) but the one time, yes, the one time in the past 4 decades they won the gf....everything was clean and above board.

Not their go.

The guppies are serial offenders in bringing the game into disrepute in recent times. The kindness shown to them by the NRL and the media in contrast to the destruction we copped amuses me. The silence of our biggest critic Rothtool is also telling.

The whole salary cap management is bent, Greenturd is overseeing a lop sided and unfair competition and the fans and members get the picture about who the haves are and the have nots are!!

It really frustrates me that the NRL never publishes its reasons for its decisions in these matters. It just assumes that we will swallow the chosen rhetoric hook line and sinker. Redact names if necessary. I can only assume it is deliberate so that they cannot be held to account...

How was Segeyaro even signed when they were being investigated for being over the cap.
I thought the Rooster were the champions at being dodgy but the sharks have it all over them.

... except in 2016 when they were squeaky clean.

Well the nrl actually said they did dodgy third party deals in 2016 but as it didn't bring them over the cap limit, as is well.

Inconsistently, the nrl claimed Manly did dodgy third party deals as well (not true), but all payments made to players were exactly as reported and salaries paid were also under the cap limit.

- next minute: Fines, bannings, and salary cap punishments galore!!!!

Edit: If we want to see some major PR spin, Rothfield's headline about all of this is:

"Heroic CEO saves Cronulla 500K by self reporting. Well done Cronulla!"

My God sports 'journalism' in league is a joke, as is the the nrl's borderline actionable inconsistency.

Executive decisions made by Greenturd, non transparent and again demonstrating his leniency towards some clubs and his vilification of clubs like ours. The Sharks deserve no favours because of the damage they have done to the game over the last 7 years and it is a joke that in 2016 they are as clean as a whistle when seasons either side they were over the cap.

Greenturd is bent!

Why is Greenberg’s obvious corruption not front page news? It speaks volumes about who really controls the game...News Ltd, and channel nein... Greenberg is a mouth piece, a Kermit the Frog trumpeter for the faceless businessmen who dictate the terms. There is just no way known that a CEO can be this incompetent, and so obviously bent... and yet nobody calls him out on it in the media. The Sharks, Eels, Storm and Bulldogs were all caught because of a whistleblower, not because of anything the NRL ever did. Then there’s Nick Politis and the thoroughbred’s who just continue receiving a free passage to do whatever they like. What club can sign Cronk and Tedesco on 1 million plus contracts, upgrade all of the players that they have and then sign Crichton on 850k, Morris, Ryan Hall and Brock Lamb, after winning a premiership? They will tell us that they shed Ferguson and Napa, but neglect to remember that they already sold us a dummy on Ferguson by saying he was signed to a $300k unders contract because he wanted to win a premiership. Unsurprisingly, Todd chose to use his “discretionary powers” and not to afford us the same “courtesy” with Glen Stewart. The same kind of stuff occurs every season at the Broncos and the Storm as we all know. The list goes on and on. They bang on about the cap creating a level playing field, which it should, and yet the last 15 seasons have nearly always featured the Roosters or Storm on grand final day. Consistency is overrated according to Todd... the game stinks like a septic tank in summertime.

It was interesting at the press conference, Paul Kent repeatedly asked what was happening with that weird company the Sharks created, how much was paid and to whom and Greenturd and his buddy kept saying durrrrr we don't know. PK said surely you must if you are now fining them for a breach and kept getting durrrrrrrr *shoulder shrug* responses

Sharks are spinning the yarn that Barry Russell resigned "with a heavy heart".
Seems at great sacrifice to himself he cleaned up the mess at Cronulla and now that it is squeaky clean he's going to hand the club over to someone else who will be able to claim all the glory....
Joins the great fairy tales of our time.

And this squad lumped together the last three years using every dodgy trick in the book is a very big chance of winning the comp. Thats the crazy bit.

Interesting Kent said on 360 he thinks it was that bad that the NRL should ensure they do not have a chance at winning the comp this year.

I encourage people to look at their roster. They have a good draw and are a big chance.

No NRL club will touch him now, every club is or has rorted the cap.
Why bring him in and have your club ripped apart.

That's the annoying thing. They know, they just don't want the rest of us to know the dodgy treatments they are affording Cronulla.

Not even interested in the rothfool spin on his new mesiah resigning. (A Gee style?)

Johnson should be made to go and @Sue is right, that is one fine roster put together through blatant cheating.
