He is treating the club like a shop front window late at night.
But I suppose he is just trying to fit in at the Eels.

I think Watmough wants to have Brad Arthur's baby.

Anthony Watmough hoping for friendlier welcome from Parramatta Eels fans

Anthony Watmough is expecting a warmer reception the next time he runs onto Pirtek Stadium.

"Hopefully they don't chant 'Watmough's a wanker' any more," Watmough said.

Save for eight appearances for the Northern Eagles, Watmough has played his entire NRL career at Manly until he made the agonising decision to defect to arch rivals Parramatta. Speaking at the Eels' season launch, at which the club announced a new partnership with the University of Western Sydney, the NSW back-rower revealed the role coach Brad Arthur played in the switch.

"I just wanted to play for someone," Watmough said.

"I never thought I'd leave Manly but it's probably been the best move I've made in my life besides marrying my wife and having a couple of kids.

"It's good to wake up every day and want to go to training. I'm not sitting in my car, not wanting to get out. Not wanting to train.

"I'm happy to get out. You know you're going to get flogged but you do it with a smile on your face ... Brad is a pretty inspiring person; you want to go out there and go to battle for him.

"When you speak to him and he says he wants you here to help rebuild a club and help the young kids, it's inspiring. It was an easy decision."

Watmough will not have to wait long to face his former club. There are plenty of former Sea Eagles in the Eels' ranks - Arthur, Will Hopoate, Darcy Lussick and Richie Fa'aoso among them - but the focus will be squarely on Watmough for their blockbuster opening clash the old foes.

"[I'm] excited. There's people in this team who hate Manly even more than I do," Watmough said.

"It's going to be good, I'm glad we get it out of the way early, especially out here at Parra.

"Hopefully it's a packed house and all the Parra fans get down there. I know there's a few boys ready to go, so we're just counting down the days."

There's another change for Watmough this pre-season. For the first time in memory, the 31-year-old is injury free and able to fully participate with his teammates.

"It's the first time in two or three years I can run properly, I can hop and do leg weights and run every day," he said.

"It's a strange feeling being to train day in and day out. It's been a tough few months with Brad and the rest of the coaching staff but it's been enjoyable. I got to meet some great people over here, a great group of kids and a couple of older ones and they are just willing to learn.

"They accepted me with open arms and from day one I felt a part of it."

Tim Mannah and Jarryd Hayne captained the club last year but Arthur is yet to settle on a skipper for 2015. Watmough will be a contender for the honour, although he is expected to be a leader regardless.

"Hopefully I just lead by example," he said.

"I'd always like to think that I lead, but I never did lead on the training paddock that much. I was always pretty lazy. It's been a blessing out here for me, training every day with the kids and watching them grow. I couldn't have made a better move."

The Eels finished just one win shy of an unlikely play-off berth last year, a remarkable improvement following successive wooden spoons. While the club will likely struggle to score as many points without Hayne - the NFL hopeful scored 20 tries and made 23 line breaks last year - Arthur is hoping his side won't be overpowered after a brutal pre-season.

"Everyone is bigger, stronger and fitter this time around," Arthur said.

"We've trained for it this year, the boys are going to be a lot more confident when things don't go their way and respond due to the work they have done pre-season," Arthur said.

There is a real air of confidence around the club at the moment. BA spoke that he feels this off-season has been excellent whereas as 2013/14 was rushed. The emphasis has been on physicality and mental toughness which was missing in 2014. Choc said it's the first pre-season he's had in a number of years where he's been un-injured and ready to train each day. Make no mistake, the reason Choc is at Parra is Brad Arthur, he must have stated this about 10 times. In fact all players interviewed said they want to play for Brad.

I've always thought it would be funny to follow him round on a sat night then hand the footage to asada. He is a grade A moron who risks his contract every week [deleted]

Why was the back part of my msg deleted? If he didn't want people to know [deleted] shouldn't do it so brazenly. I didn't think this would be news to anyone here?

[Edit - It's not particularly surprising to me, but that still doesn't make it acceptable information to post publicly in a forum, unless you have proof or are willing to do it without the anonymity of your user name so we can quickly and easily pass on your details if someone wishes to pursue the veracity of your claim]

Just FYI with defamation, the law is that the plaintiff can only seek damages if their reputation has suffered. Tough to prove with someone like Choc. And if the info won't actually damage their rep - you can defame away...

What Watmough thinks of us is nothing to do with us. That's his business. Why do we care??

Bring on the footy!

So without all the crap last year. You wouldn't have him in the team
I wouldn't have had him at the club for the last 10 years (not judging him on football ability)
We all know the situation with Choc, and how poorly it all unfolded. Seems to me, the classy thing to do would be for us to keep our mouths shut, and let the team do the talking on the field.

The more we keep talking and running him down on a public forum, the more we are disgracing ourselves, our team and this site. We know the journ's will be sniffing around for some feedback on Choc's comments. Show some respect for Dan and this site. Some respect for Manly, and some respect for yourselves. Be bigger than the situation. Leave the gutter trash where it belongs. We are better than that.
We owe Choc nothing but the truth and the truth is he has always been a piece of crap It's just sad that so many turn a blind eye when he was playing good football from us. He disgraced our club on more than 1 occasion and should have been shown the door years ago.

I bet if you asked every player at the Raiders at the season launch they would say the same. Its all just media noise, to create a bit of interest. The media person at Parra would have said don't be shy to say something to stir up Manly it will be good for the papers. But unfortunately Choc isn't too bright and run his mouth more than the average person with an IQ the same as their age. He really did look like a little kid showing off when the cameras were on him. You cant help but be embarrassed for the bloke. He is turning into the new Mario Fenech.

So on that basis, you agree that the best thing to do is to carry on like a pork chop, in public, make all sorts of embarrassing comments (maybe not you in particular, I haven't bothered to read the whole thread) and let whoever wants to visit here see how low and vindictive we can be? HOORAY!! We are all Watmough's!!

That was sarcasm. Some people on here are behaving in exactly the same way that Watmough is being crucified for in this very thread.

I am guessing after his line of Watmoughs a wanker there will be a new manly away chant this year at parra on March 6th.

I would take Chocs two errors over the three punctual errors any day' Lets rip into Fluffy for his mistake riddled performance

If we ever have the room to accommodate Gifty, I would welcome him home with open arms.
Absolute class of a man. His exit speech was very moving.
Whereas Twatmough can rot in Parra permanently for all I care!

Couple of thoughts.
1. Loobs are you a lawyer?
2. If I can prove it, therefore its the truth, would it still be defamation?
3. Watmough has a reputation outside of being an idiot?
4. I don't think we pursue defamation cases in Australia or else the telecrap would be the most litigated against publication in recorded history ;)

Sorry mate I didn't want to sound all high and mighty and I have heard similar stories.

I am a proud Manly fan who signed up for my first year as a Member of both the Forum and the Football Club.

This Club has been so good to me as a fan and through the Club, I have experienced some of the greatest memories of my life watching the Team play and the fans rejoice.

This is my first post on the Forum, I have been an observer for quite a while however, tonight Anthony, you Sir provoked me in responding so my fellow fans can read my thoughts.

So Anthony, if you or any of your new found folk at the Church of Brad of the latter day Arthur's are trolling this Forum or they are reading this back to you, I ask that they regale the following quote to you in light of your recent departure:

"There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true."

A fairly accurate quote on what came to light last season when you could not achieve whatever you were after, and I fear, in light of your recent "rent-a-quote" performance this evening, one that could apply to the season ahead.

Go on about your job, be proud in what you have achieved and leave whatever memory I have left of you alone.

Welcome to Forum!!

This is a forum people can express views how they see fit. If they step over the line I'm sure Dan or a mod will pick them up.

"There's people in this team that hate Manly even more than I do"...........nice thing to say about the club that made him! Well guess what Watmough............Manly hates you also!!

The amount of butthurt in here is hilarious.

Firstly to the idiot who is sickened by Watmough taking photos with Sterlo, stereos is an eels legend and was the host of the launch which he got pics with every player.

Secondly this just adds fuel to the manly v parra hate. ****ing embrace it

Thirdly do you not see any similarities to Lyon with this situation leaving former club on a bad note and going to a club on the up under a new coach and new talent?

Last this just may give you an insight how unstable your club really is from the inside.

Enjoy

Bugger off Wanker!!!

Let's not forget Kite he was squeezed out and we didn't here 1 peep out of this famous "core" about that.

Sorry mate I didn't want to sound all high and mighty and I have heard similar stories.

lol sorry if it came across that way. Difference between us and him though is we aren't being paid for a public image and to be a role model. If I was earning hundreds of thousands and had a public persona I wouldn't risk it. Then again i'm not stupid. Now that he's not a manly boy I wonder how long it will be before a picture or video finds its way to the press. Because he's about as subtle as a sledgehammer.
