The decade of disappointment continues. Multiple coaches, countless CEO changes and yet we remain bogged in **** and have this bizarre strategy of signing Tigers duds. As long as Penn owns the club Manly is destined to win nothing and to remain uncompetitive against the top sides. We're ****ed.

I never thought I would say this but that was pathetic from us tonight and I hated going to watch us live Just not the team I have grown up loving.

as you said but we have become a complete joke of a club and no one really cares as all the other nrl clubs are loving seeing us fail like this.

I say this with a heavy heart we are the new west tigers and are in for some hard years ahead
Did you really think we were going to win tonight? Noone on any other website expected us to win. The bookies didn't expect us to win!
.... And we rarely win when turbo is out!

We see your disappointment but you do need to be realistic as well!

Just sayin’

I did not expect a win but was really disappointed with the way they scored their tries through the centre of our ruck..

I can take getting beaten when our defence is outstripped by effective attacking structures or conceding tries off kicks… but tries through the ruck are caused by players switching off or not making the effort to push into a space when defending… p*sses me off…

I didn’t expect a win , in fact I expected ( and stated so ) an absolute reaming by a team that is red hot at present.

If you didn’t watch the game , and just looked at the score you’d say “ gee that was a close one “ .

As I said last night , we have 2-3 superstars , 2-3 who bleed the team and the rest are journeymen only there for the payday.

Until we have 20-30 who bleed the team we are screwed.

I knew we were not going to win still I went to watch yes I agree with you on that.

I get also being realistic also just seeing us live we looked way worse than on TV.

Don't get me wrong I know we are at least 5-10 years away from being a serious contender just was disappointed how we played

So much negative posts on here, we played a team that was in front of us, lost 3 try's to 2 and got hammered crazy by the ref on 6 agains. Was always going to be a tough ask. Sure, our attack wasn't great. Let's see how we go next week, in the meantime don't slit your wrists just yet.

Sharks (currently sitting 3rd), away. See, we already have our excuses for that loss. They are a better team, we never beat the Sharks, the dog ate it, they are all there already.

How do we do that Mark? And can it even happen anymore? My purely unscientific view is that it is most likely to happen where it's easier to instil that tribal approach, say with the Warriors (coz they have that unifying NZ thing with a sprinkling of outsiders), Brisbane origianlly (coz it was the QLD thing with a sprinkling of outsiders - altho as the QLD teams have expanded that's being watered down a little), Penrith (coz of demographics and it being such a hot bed for juniors). But I don't know how we bring that back to Manly with what appears to be such a limited juniors pool of talent. It's been covered to death on here about how many have come through the junior ranks and have gone on to bigger and better things at other clubs.

Then people say it's Penns fault or a bad CEO or the several coaches we've had in the last 10 years or the player managers fault or the greedy players. Man, it all makes for depressing reading.

So on a gloomy Sunday morning in Sydney, what have you got for me Mark?? Help an old fart Manly supporter out here.

Some of the fanbase here are starting to resemble the Gold Coast Seagulls/Chargers fans back in the 90s.
A constant expectation of a reaming every week....and even more concerning an apathy to losing.

Mathematically we can still make the semis and we have not had 50 scored against us, so we are still a chance to win the grand final 😁

We've already won the Grand Final in another category...the NRL Retirement village of the Year.

We have all the makings of a retirement village...a large contingent of clientele, a resident pastor, rehab facility of excellence and an owner who specialises in healthcare.

Well after a decade of failure we are now one of those clubs that we always used to count on for getting 2 points. We are consigned to the arse end of the table for many years to come. Think back to the 70's Penrith Newton, Norths. The 80's Steelers, 90s Gold Coast,Wests, Souths,Cowboys, 2000 Gold Coast ,Tigers. Clubs stuck in a rut of failure and mediocrity that can last for a decade or more and they try to buy their way out by taking on rejects and yesterday's men from other poor performing clubs. When was the last time we recruited top quality players. Way back 2006 era Lyon, Kite, Bell, Orford , Hall, Galuvao, Faoso.

Even though we signed a few players that were ok but not great, at least they had something to offer towards the back end of the career. Now we are on this constant mission of signing anyone who can't get a gig anywhere else. We are starting to resemble the Gold Coast Seagulls, whom I remember signed Wally Lewis, Chris Close, Dale Shearer,Billy Johnstone, Mike Eden, etc. All who were sublime players but well past their prime.

Well why did we get rid of Hasler for Seibold? At least Hasler had runs on the board. Seibold took the broncos to their first spoon and had not coached since. Your supposed to upgrade not downgrade.

Not sure on that one Ryan "we never beat the Sharks" wasn't so long ago that the Sharks were are bitches. Lot's of teams are finding it hard beating the Sharks right now, not only us.
