That is the biggee. Given Matai is out, who puts their hand up for the second centre spot. It may make the Auckland 9's a genuine trial.

Contenders are;

Parker, Locke, Kelly, one of the wrights, Brown, Slimyankle

Yeah it's really the first time I've been anticipating seeing our 9's side, should make an interesting squad cause we'd be testing plenty of em you listed.

Personally I don't think Stewart and Matai will play next year. Just a matter of sorting money. Thats why Taufua is still hanging around waiting if he is needed pending the Stewart situation and if Locke is signed or not.
Also I still think once Matai's money is free my guess is that we'll have a crack at a top line prop.

The rumours were he was being shopped around and no clubs interested. I think it was Canberra he was linked to but Ricky said no.

I understand he's at training but what else is he supposed to do? Sit around at home?
They'd be allowing him to train with the team to keep fit.

But with them recruiting Locke, Uate, Omar, Kelly also with Parker... I just don't think they'll find a first grade spot for him. Time will tell.

The club wouldn't need to "shop" him around if he was no longer on contract. The fact that the club is trying to find him a new home means that he is contracted for next season.

Yeah, i don't really want him anyway, just wants the money, i mean he'd go after the highest bidder on almost all occasions so it'd be hard hanging on to him later on if we ever were to get him, I'd like to try get Euan Aitken though, very good centre

I'm only going off the Foxsports article which says he's not contracted for 2017....

If Manly didn't want Jorge for next year and he wasn't contracted I can't see the club just kicking him to the curb and saying you're on your own. He's played his heart out for the Eagles and I'm sure they'd be doing everything possible to help him out where possible. They'd even sign him on a contract - probably for peanuts though. If, of course, the fox article is true...

Think it was the Jerker that said he was in talks with Canberra but Ricky said no.

I hope he stays. Love his aggression and the way he can get the ball over the line. Just gotta work on the highball....

Check out the MWSE squad status pinned thread. SMH said he is at Manly until at least the end of 2017. Do you really think a guy who has played 100 1st grade games in his 5 year career would just be sticking around Manly in the hope that he could pick up some scraps?? His manager would have signed him a deal elsewhere months ago.
