Young Forwards - Do we have any?

Ciraldo and Seibold have both been coaching their clubs for exactly the same amount of time.
What is the difference?
Is it Stephen Chricton?

But, um, we knocked the Bulldogs out of the competition last year, didn't we? And while the Dogs are looking good so far this year, they haven't won anything just yet.

Look, I think Ciraldo is an excellent coach, but so far he's won just as many premierships as Siebold. And I think the Dogs have been smart not to expect miracles from him right away. He was given a five-year deal to start with, and nobody panicked when they finished 15th in his first season as head coach. He's also been given the opportunity and budget to completely re-shape the Bulldogs' roster.

It is time for Seibold to be judged on this roster he has been here for 3 seasons. He decided to sign brooks rather than sign a star youngster to play outside DCE he also has refused to move on from croker. They chose to back Schuster on big money when nothing he did was worth what we paid. They made a very good winger in Garrick into an average centre. Rather than give some young hungry forwards a run we persist with lodge, waddell etc.

This isn't all on Seibs but he is driving the bus and teams behind us who are taking hard decisions we decided against are backing youth and that is driven by the coach.

If we were playing like we are with young kids and building a roster most could see the better days but we have an old busted roster and not many of us see any plan.

Seibold had a youngster to play outside DCE. He didn't have to sign anyone.

Young Fainu who they had been paying 250k per year as a 16 year old, but for some reason did not want to pay more or actually coach the kid, sold both young gun brothers to Wests and bought fellow Moses client Brooks for 600k .??

Work that one out please?

I am really getting frustrated and ultimately depressed about Manly and their plans for future success.

I am watching the Roosters with a bunch of young players being supported by some older experienced players.
Their future looks great.

I then look at Manly - we had some great juniors and sold them to the tigers, Canberra and Dragons and buy schiit players like Brooks and old washed up slow forwards.

How are we building to the future with such a short term money ball approach to our club.

Hey, Mestrov - PLEASE EXPLAIN YOUR PLAN.
We’re in a premiership window. Future generations can wait their turn.

Yeah, I agree that's the biggest problem. Almost every other club in the NRL can point to a plan in place for better days ahead. Us? We might have some good talent coming through in a couple of years (Walsh, Large, etc), but the immediate future doesn't look so bright, and our forward stocks will still be very thin.

I still hold out some hope that we'll have a bit more money to throw around to beef up the pack once DCE has moved on and Turbo and Jurbo's salaries are more aligned with their current outputs. And maybe the whole squad will have an attitude adjustment (@God knows, they need one). But again, there's no immediate fix.

Even my magic pixie dust can't fix this lot.

I did. How do you know that Penn wants instant success every year, or are you saying we have to come last for a rebuild and plan for the future?

C'mon mate,...of course he wants instant success.

"Results driven business", as previously successful Coach Toovey was punted.

Well documented KPIs forced on Coach Des looking for instant success.

Barrett punted after failure (thankfully).

Revolving door of CEOs with little time to build anything of any use.

Stability breeds success. Seibs may not be the man, I don't know....but I do know instability does not bode well for breeding junior talent, which is where this discussion started.

Jake and Tom should be moved on at there contract ends next year.

The more that time goes by, the more I agree with this.

This era has produced nothing. I just hope it never produces a spoon. We can show them loyalty post-retirement, they have the brains for coaching careers. There shouldn't be any indebted loyalty to people who have won nothing.
