It would have been great to see them qualifying. They haven't given up and will be at it again trying to qualify for the next WCup.
The Greeks have just announced their first ever women's side. Which shows the progress our great game is making in one of the best countries in the world. They will playing in a historic match against the Turks in September. The ladies up first followed by the men's teams. Should be a fierce encounter.
My understanding is that they will be facing the Scotts and Russians later in the year as part of next world cup qualifiers.
Zorba would be a fantastic ambassador. He would fire them up for sure. But he's probably retired now and busy smashing plates..
A question to anyone who might know , are the “ best of the best” chosen for these games or the best up and comers??

The Rugby is a fair bit different Mark as there are now a permanent 7's Rugby sides that are specialists just in 7's as apposed to the Super rugby sides....this is where I expected Tom Wright would really explode, where this League 9's is more a 1 off a year gig.
I reckon there will be plenty of your up and comers representing other nations from Qld and NSW Cup....even Holden Cup, but Aust, NZ, Tonga will be more players that we see at NRL level.
