Woodsie's Team List Tuesdays

I'm hoping that:
Lawton's recovered from his injury, is named at 12 and actually plays there
Talau's recovered from his injury and is named in the 17 (personally I'd like him to replace Koula, who was underwhelming last week)
Simpkin replaces Croker at 9, with Croker on the bench
Lodge is brought into the 17 to give a much-needed boost to our defence

We need our strongest possible side to have any chance of a win.
Talau - :heavycheck:
Lawton - in reserves is a half :heavycheck:, still hoping...
Simpkin - :crossmark:, unfortunately
Lodge - :heavycheck:

Fingers crossed some sense prevails by the 6pm Thurs team update. Surely Croker's not going to play 80 mins against the Dogs!

Our forwards can all play but a lumbering pack with Paseka, Aloia, Lodge, Jake, and Haumole looks unbalanced, even old-fashioned suddenly for this crazy 6-again era.

The winning template calls for plenty of action players, fit mobile and energetic, able to constantly run support plays and get to tackles in numbers. We need to add Lawton in place of one of the boppers, I'd have thought.

The Sharks still use multiple boppers, but at least balanced with 3 lighter 80min backrows and an 80 min dummy half.

Out of deference to his standing in the club I think Crokes is being given a chance to show he can manage 80 min. And ditto Aloia, a chance to show he's better value than Lodge if it comes down to selecting only one of them. Koula another case in point, and hopefully he's been given a crash course in dummy half play, as he's too much of a talent to leave out of the 17.

Seibold has made a point of saying we want competition for spots, and to his credit he has acted on that so far. The decisions only get harder now we're at the pointy end.

This Tuesday will be a challenge with the team selection, particularly the forwards.

Jake T is ruled out, Bully picked up a knee injury and Brown an AC joint issue, Sipley potentially suspended.

Aloiai may return along with Waddell, the club maybe forced to play James as he is in the 30 man squad.

Bully will be missed if unavailable..

The panthers where going to beat us anyway, even their 3rd grade side gave it to us, till our forwards go forward and generate some speed were easy beats

I think supplementary list players are also available from round 1.

I'm not sure if that helps though. Anyone know the status of our supplementary guys?
The below are supplementary players,

Caleb Navale
D’Jazirhae ‘Mia’ Pua'avase
Simione Laiafi
Zaidas Muagututia

Navale would be the most likely to get a run, round 11 is the one when the train and trial players will be available, that can’t come quick enough..

If our forwards were bad last night wait until there’s

No Jake
No Bully
No Brown
No AoA
No Sipley ( no huge loss but he’s still a body )
No Paseka

Was Ola injured , the way he played you’d suggest he might have been

But wait we still have Burbo, Duck , Jazz & TKO ( who played well last night ).

Maybe a couple of backs on the bench , forget the midfield just spread it wide every tackle , few chips over the top to gain possession, short kick offs , we’ll be right.

The Panthers would be salivating at the thought

Don't forget no croker

We whinge about the current crop of players. But have a look at the duds we had in 2019 from the game V St George that FOX showed yesterday afternoon in the lead up to the 7:50pm game.

The team included:
Morgan Boyle
Brad Parker
Brendan Elliot
Kane Elgey
Corey Waddell
Jack Gosiewski

If I have to make a prediction from the above, also on the basis that we apparently might get Turbo back (even though I'd rest him)

1. Turbo
2. Saab
3. Koula
4. Garrick
5. Hopoate
6. Brooks
7. DCE - honestly close to being dropped
8. Aloiai - I bloody hope he's back
9. Simpkin
10. TKO
11. Olakau'atu
12. Ben Trbojevic - who else do we play?
13. Jazz Tevaga
14. Tommy Talau
15. Corey Waddell
16. Caleb Navale
17. Chris Patolo - surely at this point we can get special dispensation from the NRL to play him. If not, James...

Absolutely terrible pack. Did I miss anyone? I sure hope so.

So if Patolo can’t play our options for a bench forward this week Simione Laiafi, D’Jazirhae Pua'avase & Aitasi James? We are in some trouble.

At least Haumole didn’t get charged.
Even on his rare off Night last night
Haumole was still the most destructive running forward on he field giving the dragons players Nightmares trying to bring him down

Haumole would walk into Any Team in the World if not the Universe
WHAT A PLAYER !!!
