Woodsie's Team List Tuesdays

Interesting team selection today, plenty of options for Manly.
eg - Lawton back? Koula's spot? Burbo..?
We supposedly have a few with injury question marks but at this time of year fair enough if the club is trying to keep that a bit hush hush.

Not too sure on the availability of Talau , Gordy or Lawman for that matter
Looks like Blacktown put in a lot more respectable effort on the weekend , maybe Sipley , Waddell and Simpkin will be in contention again .
Jake probably needs a bit of a longer rest during his stints , rest of the pack seem to be doing O K preservation wise , even Browny .
Certainly can not take any N R L lightly of course and especially in the ongoing context of Manly "s finals quest .
Koula looked to be running quite freely. when he came on against the Warriors so that has to be a positive

You forgot to mention Lodge Al, think he could come in on the bench, Sieb's will want to see what Lodge has to offer going into the closing games proper.

Yeah , quite possibly , think that Lodge played 13 on the weekend so not sure how that may influence selections but apparently did not go too bad .
Still would assume the likes of Bully and Sipley , even Waddell would be more in favor and again , probably will depend on how much Lodge may still have to offer at a higher level and game speed

I posted this thread as a tribute to that cantakerous old troublemaker. He liked to rile me up and nothing riles me up more than someone being a dickhead, so often he was quite successful. His Scottish heritage was a redeeming feature, as well as another shortcoming, oh well.
I doubt he would ever leave here willingly under his own steam, so therefore I hope he's well but if not ...get this thread into you keppie-loving bampot. 🙂

One of the Greatest Legacies we can all leave is to be nice to people
Being Nice is the Beacon of light that shines bright above all in this World that can be dark at times

I believe he left willingly, unfortunately.

Certainly miss his posts (his, and many others that are no longer posting).

We will all have some one new to take our place

Sad to see so many posters leave. In the case of @Woodsie I could see he certainly injected alot of his personal energy into the forum to keep many engaged. I fully respect the posters who are always creating constructive threads etc. It takes a lot of energy and time to do this. So posters such as my self can add their one or two line views too. I guess he may have got sick of it. I mean putting in so much effort and energy ( personal time) and not getting much back in return except some banter etc. he may have also got himself banned ( run out of points) and then unceremoniously cut off by some form of AI bot built into the site. btw I type this as i am working from home today. So back to work….

Lucky you guys that can work from home
You get extra sleep
You dont have to go through traffic
You save money
You can work with cozy cloths or no cloths at all
If you have a woman at home she can give you a shoulder and back massage whilst you sending emails
You can even have a glass of red or white and no one will know
You guys have got it made
On the present and past Manly posters perspective ....
We all log on this Manly Sacred site for the leisure and pleasure of being proud and passionate Manly Sea eagles people . It is not an obligation but privilidge to express our passionate views and engage with like minded Manly people
If we take this attitude then we will always be grateful for the opportunity that our Silvertails forums gives us all
Dont work too hard feathered friend @Uber Eagle 72
Enjoy your homely lurks and perks

Thanks mate, WFH is very convenient so definitely nothing to complain about. I think there is however a significant higher level of input in what posters like woodsie and others do compared to us. I am just a random poster you kind of do your own thing.A lot of bozo homage and philosophy slap stick stuff ( this is your thing and power to you) but it does not invoke a lot of additional conversation etc like woodsie used to do, This takes a lot of energy and time to do! I respect the effort that goes into to doing this. It kind of keeps the site alive…and should warrant some respect

Looking forward to TLT this week. I think the team selected is going to be a crucial factor in trying to get over the Dogs (along with our defence and discipline). I'm hoping that:
Lawton's recovered from his injury, is named at 12 and actually plays there
Talau's recovered from his injury and is named in the 17 (personally I'd like him to replace Koula, who was underwhelming last week)
Simpkin replaces Croker at 9, with Croker on the bench
Lodge is brought into the 17 to give a much-needed boost to our defence

We need our strongest possible side to have any chance of a win.
