Wombat is doing it tough

So sad.
He was the reason I went for Manly in 1972, as a 9 year old kid going to Rainbow Street Public, Kingsford. Every other kid went for Souths and Easts.
Best decision I ever made!
All the best Graham!!
Assuming you started following Manly before the 1972 decider, you have now witnessed (in the interim), Manly win more premierships than the Roosters and Rabbitohs over the same period.

Good call.

An absolute legend and very sorry to read he's doing it tough.

Yes - after watching him play during the 1972 year, he became my favourite. Good year to start following the team! Eight premierships and counting.

All the best big fella - I miss you chatting and pouring beers at The Billi
I loved it when he was managing Treetops Tavern at West Burleigh. Blokes would order at the bar and then engage Wombat with their favourite memories of him. And if it was on Friday arvo, the place was packed with every fluro tradie you could think of, PLUS, they had two strippers doing their thing, and taking drink orders as well. Poor Wombat was smiling, yelling orders, managing a bloody testosterone fuelled Friday arvo crowd.
Never once did he lose his shiit. A nod here, a wink there, without missing a beat.
It didn’t matter who you supported in the footy. Everyone there loved Wombat.
All the best to Graham and his lovely wife Leah. :h: :h::h:

I didn’t see a lot of Graham Eadie play as I was born in 77. However my old man loved him and named me after him, hence my avatar.
He’s my namesake too and I’m a few years old than you. It was a no brainer for a Manly backed family. My big brother was an Igor fan so the backyard match ups were pretty brutal but hey that was the 70s.

Wombat arguably the greatest FB from the greatest RL era. GE's team mates on the bench. Make Rugby League Great Again.

Glowhead downing a Tooheys or two. I think this was 1983 after the Bozo led exodus from the Rorters
Yes it’s 1983. Walker’s last year at Manly. Boustead’s first.

And Wormald’s first season as Manly’s major sponsor.

Plus we have Adam Reynolds, in a previous life, at bottom left.
