Thomo has already come out and said he's happy to take a 'pay-cut' and I am sure there are others in our team willing to do so.
But will DCE?
Remember when the sh-t hit the fan about his apparent refusal to train unless he had an increase that alienated him from the Stewart's, Choc , Foran and Mattai?
So DCE, what are you prepared to do for the club as it's captain?
Yes, you probably have massive mortgages to pay on your investment properties and your share portfolio has diminished substantially of late. What are you prepared to do as a leader of our club to help those almost on the basic wage in the club and without a job and those support staff who have been let go and now have to join the Centrelink queue?
How are you going to lead this club by setting an example to others who will also have to compromise their lifestyle as many in the community have had to do?
And not just DCE, but all the players on huge salaries in our club. What are they prepared to compromise for other players in this unprecedented time so the lower paid players can at least afford to feed, clothe and care for their families?
I'm not just pointing the finger at DCE but all the players, How strong is the unity really? How much do they really care about each other or is it just a 'dog eat dog' culture at Manly?
