Why fans aren't Coaches ...

In an idle moment this morning ... listening to all raps for our players ... and generally basking in the praise from all at the table of humble pie ... I thought of the wisdom of Silvertails ... and some of the notions expressed over the past few years ...

1) ... Piss Croker off he will never be a first grader ...
2) ....Tear up Fainu's contract ... we don't need a grub like that at the club ...
3) ... Piss Parker off he is useless ....
4) .... Jorge is fukken gone .... get rid of him .... waste of space ..
5) ... Suli is a fat lazy boy .. too slow ... waste of cap space ....
6) .. Tear up Walkers contract ...
7) ... AFB is a plodder ...
8) ... Why did we buy Elliot he offers nothing ...
9) ... Who is Garrick ... couldn't make a StGeorge top 30 ... bring in Anderson ...
10) ... Let Kapow go if the bastard wants to go ...

I am sure there were more pearls of wisdom ... but my mind wanders ...

Why aren't fans coaches? Because we'd suck at it lol.

I used to coach juniors (U/14 and U/16) here in Adelaide back in the mid-late 90s. That was tough enough sometimes, especially with things like parents constantly complaining if their kid (the star of the team.....to them) ever sat on the bench or the struggle to sometimes have enough players to even have a full team of 13 (we'd often have to ask some of the bigger U/12's to fill in after they'd already played their game). I'd hate to have to coach first grade in the NRL. I'd love the money someone like Des or Bellamy or Bennett would be getting, but as to everything else that comes with the job.....I think I'll stay put as a fan thank you very much lol.

And the parker is useless as he was no one can deny this and jorge taufua was also pathetic costing us games. Im happy for them both. Jorge has been creaming them out wide hahaha. As for the rest not me.

I'd like to go on record to say that there is no record of me saying any of those things.

One expects, unfortunately, every generation of bought players probably goes through the same errr 'process'.

Happens in all sports I guess. Last year people were complaining about Elias Pettersson, a young Swede bought by the Canucks as a hockey forward.

He played 71 games for 66 points (the next best rookie played 82 games for 44 points and was drafted first, and touted as the best overall player available), just won the "calder memorial trophy' as the leagues best rookie. Was voted rookie of the month for 2 months, was a nhl all star, and in the all star rookie team this year.

In conclusion, it takes so much ****ing work to get anywhere near the top level of any sport, and maybe we're all dud judges; especially when being negative.

We sometimes drink too much which clouds our judgement
We only see what we want to see
We stick up for our favourite players
We condemn players before giving them a fair chance
And as a fan we only have to answer to ourselves for a bad call on our own judgement

Good post , well said .
Some qualified coaches can also make as big fck ups as us mere fans .
One of many Examples from the qualified experts was the the coaching staff at the dogs released our next Immortal Thurston because he was not good enough for NRL level .

Maybe we can start a new thread on here for the clubs that released players that were lingering in their lower grades that became stars in other teams and there were many
