Given I expect Dylan to be off for some time after that cannonball tackle ( still don’t know how the player who did it stayed on the field) who will be our 5/8 v the Donkeys??

Apart from the obvious “ never to be picked again” I’m guessing it’s that future Immortal “ Lewis Brown”.

And that is based on the “ I’m not picking Tom Wright either” situation.

Desperate times I think, I’m fact very desperate!!

Mark this was my post earlier today in another thread..............

If Barrett insists in not selecting Hastings then the obvious choice is to blood Tom Wright at 5/8. Can he be any worse than Croker & now Walker?? He has a very good kicking game both short & long, he has speed to burn, he has that X factor, however he also has a few defensive issues. In saying that he is a better defender than what Green was so what the f$%k is Barrett waiting for? His excuse is he doesn't want to throw him into the deep end........well then let's just persist with playing players out of position & let's just keep f$%king losing games we could be winning! I'm no coach by any stretch of the imagination & considering the players we have available, i would like to see this team take on the Broncos next week:-
Tom T
M Suli
D Walker
B Kelly
A Uate
T Wright
DCE
M Taupau
A Koproisau
T Paseka
S Lane
J Thompson
Jake T

Res: M Wright, AFB, L Perrett, T Sipley

Maybe i'm delusional but we could spank the Broncos by showing a little faith in players & blooding them now!

You know that team even if it does many more wins this season , the young players would gain so much experience and be better for it in the coming years.. this year is a total right off and i see only benefits for the future playing that team listed, whether TB does any of those changes I really don't know.

I like that team by way.

Baz said on NRL.com its looking like he is ok.

But should he be out, you have to pick Tom Wright (as madmax said). The season is essentially a write off, so why not blood him now, give him a year outside DCE to build a combo. Espically if our cap is tight, we may not have room for a expensive half.

Its clear Hastings isnt going to get a gig.

Trent mentioned in his Press Conference that Walker should be right to go and given he looked to be moving reasonably well afterwards, fingers crossed he'll be there!

Spot on Mark.

I thought the NRL were outlawing cannonball tackles but no penalty so not on report but I forgot it's the Rorters so I shouldn't be surprised.

Don't get me started on the forward passes or the no knock on which would have had Walker under the posts.

Perenara must be a nightmare to play under the only thing he's good at is being inconsistent.

Mark after Dylan's ankle shoulder and leg surgerys a little hyperextension won't bother him 😛

what about the head high tackle on Marty? If that was Marty doing that tackle, he would have been sent off and the media ( Rothfield) crapping on about a 12 weeks ban.

Victor Radley charged for his tackle on Kapow and will miss a week. Manu also charged for his cannonball tackle on Walker but wont miss a game. Pity that sterner action couldn't have been taken at the time by Perenara....

Was just reading he'll get - wait for it- 1 week!

Walker will be our 6 if he's fit. If not, then no one really knows. Hopefully Baz calls T Wright into the 6 instead of Api. We'll find out tomorrow I guess.

I've got the perfect strategy to wipe out the cannonball tackle, mandatory suspension minimum of 2 weeks more for repeat offenders.

Its seems to me Walker was different this time around and we haven't got much of a choice.
Walker is getting into it and running pretty solid.
So for my opinion it will be Walker

Personally I'd go for the old Russian criminals and Siberia thing.

1st offence - 2 weeks.
2nd offence - 4 weeks.

Players wouldn't want to risk a 3rd offence.

The reality is that unless Barrett actually bites the bullet, sucks it up and selects Hastings at 5/8.....we are going to have to put up with playing 1 half and 3 centres. Because the only other 5/8's we have are centres who are running players just like our halfback, or Api and that is an even bigger disaster waiting to happen.

Roll on 2019 because you can put a fork in Manly's 2018. We're done......

The only way Hastings will get a go in first grade is if there are 13 players injured (or unavailable due to SOO) . IMO there is no other way he will be playing first grade with Manly this year.

If Walker is fit then he will be playing 5/8 again this week. He went ok on the weekend. Just needs a kicking game, a good passing game and to organise the team to allow DCE to play his natural game!
