I pick Fulton. His career straddles the 50 year cut-off which makes it closer but even discounting his remarkable achievements before 1970 - such as youngest ever grand final captain - his deeds put him in a league of his own. The only issue is 5/8 or centre. Definitely more of an individual brilliance player than an organising half and that's a fair argument for picking him at centre.
But this is a vote for 5/8 and he's in the field so I'll pick him! Though his forte wasn't organising supports he nevertheless had a huge effect on each team he played for just by his presence. Martin was a tremendous player but Fulton wasn't moved to centre because Martin was a better 5/8 than him, it was just that he was too good to leave out and Fulton could be equally effective at centre.
I totally understand the votes for Cliffy, probably my favourite ever Manly player and a unique talent who could do things others could not. However it took him a fair while to 'get it all together' and reach his peak so for continued excellence... Bozo prevails.
(Don't worry I'll vote for Bozo in the centre category too!)
