This may vary from club to club, but (and prompted in part by alleged machinations around appointment of Manly's next coach) how is this workable:
Someone with experience in clubland may know the answer, to an outsider it does seem an anomaly compared with other types of organisation!
- At least one if not several players are paid more than the head coach - yet can be disciplined by the coach?
- How about the CEO, is that person paid more than the top player(s)?
- Are the coaching staff (or even the CEO) in reality mere assistants to the star players?
