Its a combination of those things. Players not putting in (letting gift go caused this?), a rabble at board level, injuries, poor recruitment/retention and poor coaching. Put all those together and you have our current situation.

The biggest issue is we had a champion side that was getting on in age and our transition plan didn't work. The plan was to let some of the older players go so we could build around DCE and Foran ect This failed too fold when we let Gift go which upset half the team and DCE and Foran decided to sign elsewhere.

this post is the closest to the truth , that i have seen !!!!

No - its the irrational reaction of Snake, Foran and Choc to a business decision to not offer Glenn a contract. Matai is not a vindictive type, those 3 are and it has led to this mess.

DCE was actively bullied last year to take unders so that Foran can get his millions and an aging Player is kept on the books.

The Idiots running the Asylum is continuing to this day with the Foran contract saga - can't believe that Manly will torment their Fans with it till round 13 😡

2v being sacked or moved on, will not change anything until Foran and DCE leave.

Snake will just turn up, when he is in the mood, for the next 2 years 🙁

Who knows if Gifty was offered a contract or not. How many games had he played for us in the last few years anyway and besides can you keep every one? Unfortunately, no you can't...so let it go. Seriously Snake, Forme and Watamouth are little brats and I can't believe how immature and vindictive they have been. You never let players control the club, they are employees not employers.

Matai was of that senior clique, however he still puts in and gets on with things.

Anyway I remember when Watamouth was praising Tooves a while back, saying how he was the glue holding them together etc. Now he cant wait for any opportunity to knife him.

The NRL are partly to blame for having a clear agenda against Manly and for not offering decent compensation for long serving players.

But ultimately Penn and Zorba are responsible for the mess now. They may not have been able to control what the NRL does, but they could control what happens at our club. The two of them have singlehandedly destroyed the Mighty Sea Eagles and we are now left with a rabble. Toovey is the scapegoat and they will blame everyone else besides themselves. Penn and Zorba do not care about us the passionate fans one bit. They could not care less about the destruction of a great club, they care only for themselves and their own warped petty getting even agenda.

If things don't change very soon, I really believe something or someone(s) needs to call out Penn and Zorba. I do not trust either of them and hold grave concerns for our club. Whether we march on their office or something I don't know, but they need to know that the club is even bigger than they are and their ego's, that the history and passion held in the maroon and white jersey, the Mighty Manly Sea Eagles is worth standing up for and protecting no matter what...........!!!!

The club has truely furked things up royally....... As a post earlier mentioned we have all our club greats finishing up in the nexted couple of years, leaving no one to lead the nexted generation of Eagles ......... It was only late last year our club came out and told us they intended on building the nexted generation around our halves, and also advised us it would be done by Christmas then the start of season, What we really got was shafted by them and feed bullsh!t. The club is in tatters as we have absolutely no appeal , no halves , Sh!t forwards and club management that could organise a shag in a brothel..... I really don't see any light at the end of this tunnel......... This new management has come in and pretty much furked us.
