Who are Manlys leaders ??

I noticed DCE more vocal with his team and refs in 2019 - no doubt Des influence and Tom T in only his first game back, showed far more leadership from the back than in 2017/18....maybe to do with confidence/experience and a combo Des/Snake guidance which is 2nd to none in this vital area.
We all know the star Manly side of 2007 - 2013 had leaders everywhere....Choc, Foz, Snake, Lyon, Ballin and others....we seemed to lack this the past couple of years, as when times have been tough the team seemed quiet...sure DCE kicked a couple of late FG's in tight games, more a shootout against the opposition for the 1 point winner...... that's different than firing the side up and taking control of the games on the line.
So who is the leader ??
Kapow and AFB make big metres and are the strongmen.
Jake is tireless and hits well in defence, but not a big talker.
Joel Thompson is probably the closest to offer leadership as a forward, but not overly vocal and at times not too prominent...
I think DCE has improved this area and from last weeks game though still only a youngster, Tom T could be ready to step it up and lead from the back with the best seat in the house - which personally would be super stoked about, as he has the ability and once he barks louder from the back, the entire team will benefit greatly.

Whats the thoughts on leadership in this current squad ??

The players were saying that the biggest noticeable change they had with Tom back last week was his talk. No doubt that he'll take up a bigger leadership role in the team. As the fullback, you have to shout your orders to the entire team regardless of who they are. Having Snake guide him through that helps him more than anything else.

We don't have any natural born leaders ..... however we do have some blokes who are becoming better leaders .... into the future DCE and Jake will develop ...

Kapow could be inspirational .... but on the field he has nil interaction with his team mates ... I am not even sure Kapow has bothered to learn any of their names ....

It's a legitimate issue isn't it. In a perfect world we'd definately have a few more strong vocal personalities out there. At the moment we have a few that lead by their effort but I'd love a few more 'talkers.' That might come when we offload some dead wood and recruit hopefully a little more class and experience into our stocks.

I think in time Tommy T will develop into a great leader. Just needs to concentrate on his game consistently right now (seems to be happening under Des and Brett's guidance), but within a year he should be as dominant as DCE

Legitimate point and have to agree with Woodsie, we simply don't have a natural leader to fire up the boys when the chips are down nor a general to guide us around, DCE is trying but its not his natural self to do so but will hopefully get more comfortable doing so with Des and co's input. Turbo may well become one but not for 1 or 2 more years yet, he is still young but at times it appears he garners more respect than DCE from players ?. Not sure just sometimes looks that way.
At the moment when the we are going good we have no issues but no one to step up when we aren't, we certainly need a forward to step up and get vocal with DCE, Turbo and possibly Elgey having a few leadership crash courses to get vocal. At present with the current squad that's all that can be done I feel.
