Frank Stokes is becoming the master at this game.
I remember the whiplash he copped when he got tackled. Almost like Marty Lang.I remember thinking he was an absolute superstar that first year - teams just could not tackle him… seriously he was on a Tom 2021 level (almost)…
Then teams started working out game plans for him, his impact diminished, he copped a big injury and by the time he came back Julian O’Neill was going gangbusters and kept him out of the squad…
The Hauf’s career burnt like magnesium (hot and fast)…
Lol… I love the cryptic reply, it was just too advanced for me obviouslyThanks! I'll take credit for an educated guess and sorry for the cryptic hasselhoff stuff
Mmm...not easy. A summary of the cluesTSE (the OG) has given me the big rap so I have put a bit of thought into this one in an effort to live up to the hype lol…

I am a Manly old boy, playing in a GF with the mighty Sea-eagles in my rookie year…
Whilst I did eventually move on to greener pastures, I was hardly a journeyman - only ever playing for two teams in the NSWRL…
Amazingly, whilst teams that I played in made 6 GFs during my long career, I was only ever selected for one more GF team after that rookie Manly year - and I got my sole premiership ring that year…
Who am I?
1. Manly old boy, not necessarily a Manly jnr… actually played juniors up the road a little (well, a bit)Mmm...not easy. A summary of the clues
1. Local Manly junior
2. Played for Sea Eagles in losing GF side in rookie year
3. Only played for 2 teams in NSWRL (not in NRL or Super League)
4. Losing Manly GF teams (pre NRL) were 1951, 1957, 1959, 1968, 1970, 1982, 1983, 1995 & 1997, so this Manly junior must have played in one of these teams
6. As the teams he played for made six GFs, one or both of these teams must have been very strong.
7. He had a long career
Indeed, who was he?
Guesses would be Lindsay Drake & Glenn Ryan (don't know if he is a Manly junior), but they don't quite fit.
Not Michael noMichael Blake
A further ‘point’ on ‘point 5’… he played first grade for all of those 6 teams during those seasons, just did not get selected for GF in 4 of those years… poor bloke…1. Manly old boy, not necessarily a Manly jnr… actually played juniors up the road a little (well, a bit)
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Yes, but as described in 1.
6. There is no 5. Aaaaaah!!!! ( but yes they ‘both’ were)
7. Relatively, yes
No and no 😁
Not Jack no…Jack Elsegood?

Another Jack that it is not… 😁Jack Lumsden?
Winner, winner.. chicken dinner…Phil Carey?
Played in 82 GF loss, not selected for 83 GF with us. Not picked in Raiders 1987, 1989 -and 1991 GF sides, but was on the bench for Raiders in their 1990 GF win over Penrith
Also, an intentional clue it seemsHis greener pastures eventually got him a title in 1990
