What if Manly relocated?

Now don't bite my head of OK but what if Manly needed to relocate, for whatever reason, but kept the Sea Eagles logo, colours etc. This may be harder for those fans that live in Manly are compared to those who live in rural, interstate or overseas. Myself, if it meant survival of the team it wouldn't be an issue but I would still like to see some games in Sydney.

Relocated to Manly Oval? Rat Park?

I wouldn't follow my team if it left the Northern Beaches.

I'm with Meeha, if they left the northern beaches then they wouldn't be Manly-Warringah anymore & if they aren't Manly-Warringah then they aren't my team.

The other question is would you rather they be like Newtown or move?

Is no team better than one that is moved?

Who you going to support if the team relocate? Belrose A-grade?

I'd rather die than support Belrose, bunch of twats.

If we relocated (which is the same as the club dying to me) then I wouldn't support anyone. The league would be dead to me. Still enjoy the sport, but I certainly wouldn't go to any NRL fixtures & would only watch the game rarely.

Exactly (and I suppose easy for me to say considering where I live) but come on people faces with two choices which one would you make.

1) A strong and financial Manly Sea Eagles, still calling the northern beaches home BUT having to playing out of say....the SFS to survive financially.

or

2) No team at all, dead like the Bears or dead like Newtown

Before you make the instant decision to say "if they are not on the northern beaches then they are not Manly", just think of this.....a team to support still wearing our colours, and our name, and still comig back to the Leagues Club after games....or no team at all.

Sorry but if it was that choice it's just plain silly to say "let them die".

Personally I doubt it will come to that. Aboot will probably roll Gillard or Kevin11 next time and if enough pressure comes to bear you'll see a major upgrade of Brookvale.

However if that doesn't happen, and they have to move it changes nothing for me.

for chrissake fellas please stop talking relocation. The only time it has been brought up post northern eagles has been in the context of trying to get something done about brookie, i.e. if the ground isn't up to scratch we may have to consider moving. No-one wants to move the club, it is really just a "kick up the bum" threat to try and pressure for a brookie upgrade.

I did not follow the Northern Eagles, though I took an interest in Beaver and Tooves. From a ten match a season attendee I went to zero for many seasons and only got reinterested when Manly became Manly.

That is why I celebrate the wins so vociferously as I can remember when I didn't have a team. I would hate to do that again and love Manly bein Manly.

Get the board situation right, get some funding for Brookie and all will be good in the world.

Sadly, I think the "No One likes us, We Don't Care" mentality needs to be toned down as modern sponsorship wants a marketable product, not a seige mentality. There is a fine line between paranoia and healthy rivalry - we need to find it and use it. We live in a work in a multi -team city, unlike many of the other clubs.

If they relocated to Bluetongue Stadium I'd continue to be a member (but not a ticketed member). However, I would rarely go and watch them as it is the worst venue I have been to in regards to getting there on a Friday night and Getting out of the stadium through the lone exit they have on the leagues club side of the stadium.
If they played out of the SFS I would be happy as I could walk to the stadium from home. But even though I live at Randwick my preference is for them to stay at Brookie.
I'm like Canteen Worker, I didn't go to a game for the three years they were the Northern Eagles. They werent the Manly Sea Eagles so I wasn't interested.

Lets hope they upgrade Brookie then.

Sorry but I disagree. Manly is the one club with a 'personality' - all the others are bland, middle-of-the-road, try-to-appeal to everyone outfits. That's fine if you want sponsorship from a shampoo, toilet paper or a biscuit company.
We are winners, with a competitive edge. So, we are ideal for, say,
BHP steel - nothing tougher
Selleys Tough As Nails
Pajero - built to last
Batteries - never say die
Furniture - tough as teak
Condoms - no-one likes us but most guys need us
Viagra - we last for at least 80 minutes
The Army - when winning is life and death . . .

Manly. you realy like us, dont you?

Manly, buy a premiership? SURE CAN

I would still follow em no matter where they play just as long as you don't touch the colours or the emblem. I got to most of the games play Gosford as it was pretty easy for me to get onto the F3 from where I live.

Wouldn't support rugby league whatsoever. I am a Manly Sea Eagles fan, not a rugby league fan!
