What Dylan said to Scott

If you count missing however many weeks with a fractured eye socket as a win, then yeah I guess Walker sort of won.

Was talking in the context of the game. That broke the storm and we rolled them from there on.

Same as battle of Brooky. Tough game. Lussick and old mate start a fight. Gift and Blair go, manly dominate.

There was collateral damage from that (snake foz and gift suspended) but we got through that 😉

Walkz can use that time gettring better at dodging punches. 🙂

But no, spending weeks on the sideline is far from ideal. In his defence, being king hit is the lowest of acts.

Scott will be sitting on the sidelines for a few weeks.

People don't like change, and Walkz is change. He is a part of the new breed we have at the club and brings a different style to everything. One of those is his American style swagger, confidence and arrogance and I love it! Awesome! He is a character and the team needs characters, to me he is very much like Matai. The arrogant confidence, niggle and fights. Just like Skivvi. Don't see people complaining about Matais approach because it is very similar to Dylans. Don't change Dylan, your at your best when your Walker not some sensible bitch! Show that passion and aggression!

Have to disagree with you there mate - while Steve Matai played hard and had no issue getting physical with opponents, you never saw him gobbing off constantly the way Walker does. More likely, you might see a bit of ‘how do you like them apples?’ AFTER he’d smashed a guy into next week (and in response to being wound up by someone, not him doing the winding up to begin with) not the constant posturing and carrying on that the Walker types do, game in, game out. Far more humility in Steve Matai’s little finger than there is in Dylan Walker.

Someone else pointed it out in another thread - last night it went our way (because the rest of the team sucked it up and played footy when Melbourne got carried away with wanting to punch on), last year against Penrith it went the other way and they won the game by playing footy while we got carried away with the crap. Walker doesn’t know when to stop, pull his head in and let his play do the talking.

Luke Keary has grown up a bit but walker reminds me of Mitchell Moses. He has to get that **** out of his game. He gives away a lot of lazy not back the ten penalties and then every time he gives away a penalty I also cringe worrying he’s going to either get binned or marched another 10. He gives an earful to the refs. He can’t help himself. Pisses me off to no end!
The penalties he gave away are what pissed off the ref and ended up with Jake in the bin. Stupid stuff in the current penalty fest that is 2018.

A few folks saying his niggle helped us win? I thought we were doing just fine before the brawl that put us 2 players down for 10 mins (9 mins......) All his carry on did was put us down to 11 players, and cost us his and Api's services for a few weeks. I'm sure people would be cursing his name if the scum ran in 3 tries while we were down to 11. We were just lucky they dropped the ball a heap of times instead.

Terry Hill was the absolute master, he picked his target to perfection. He didn't sledge everyone and once they bit... Not just to upset them but put them off their game AND Tezza had the game to beat them and did beat them.

I loved Steve Walters sledge on Elias with Canberra giving it to the Tigers
As the scrum was forming
“Hurry up Benny- I’ve got a test match to play soon” haha Gold
Even the Tigers pack cracked up!

Nothing wrong with sledging, if you can get under someone's skin and he does something rash, well that's his problem. Everybody knows that most of the things they say on the field are made up.
Whatever Walker said certainly struck a nerve or two.

Yeah, whatever. Been around here a fair bit longer than you have, sunshine. And contributed more of value, I’d wager.

I’m entitled to my opinion. Just because someone wears a Manly jersey doesn’t mean they automatically become some wonderful godlike figure beyond reproach (which goes for supporters as well as players - plenty of Manly fans are jerks as well).

Love to know what your contribution is

No mate, Matai was a pest everyone knows that, that why he has that reputation.

Matai had a habit of retaliating when he was niggled, having his hair pulled or whatever. That’s why opposition players continued doing it, to try and get a rise out of him. Plenty of times he retaliated perfectly, by dropping the niggler on his arse the next time he ran at him. Other times he would fire up too much, hit someone high and get penalised. Difference is, Walker is the type who does the taunting and the hair pulling to begin with.

The people that don't like his antics must have hated Terry Hill !!
I don’t like the way Walker carries on, but I loved Terry Hill. Terry’s antics weren’t ego driven, Walker’s appears to be all ego.

When Walker channels his aggression into his running and defence - he is outstanding. I wish he would just stick to that.

Matai wasn’t ego driven at all. He was about aggression, passion and a hard ass - I love that, what I don’t love is massive egos and that is what Dylan is displaying - Matai didn’t.

Doubt Walker has this quick witted humour but I' be pleasantly surprised.
