We are missing our props

Josh Jackson laying into him on the ground was a retaliation that lead to a lot more and should have been sent also
This. I am still gobsmacked how the officials got that all so wrong. Firstly, Josh thrashing around while being held down (too long) is something done week in week out and never penalised (let alone binned). And secondly, to allow Jackson to do what he did in retaliation was ridiculous. Jackson was the one if anyone who needed to be binned.

Finals are won with defence and our middle needs to be bullet-proof..

Aoli and Tent start and the bench is
Lawton
Marty
Kelpie
Slippers

We have enough strike without Walker cluttering it up. I really disagree with the way Walker has been used...it's messy.

As has been mentioned by others, Sips lacks lateral mobility and is a liability for what you are wanting to achieve with bullet-proof defence. I would have Siro in there ahead of him. I'm not the biggest Siro fan, but I do think he stiffens our defence up the middle much better than either walker or Sips

We were dominating teams up until a month ago by playing 4 if not 5 props. Having Siro and Lawton on the bench and not getting game time is not working. Hopefully Paseka and Keppie back next week cos we are massively missing the go forward through the middle.
It was very noticeable today at the ground, when Walker was defending in the middle and it’s been a similar pattern the last few weeks, minus the Parra game

Paseka will really help and he should be back to his best after a much needed rest, but I don’t know that Keppie is going to make much of difference. He has too many brain snaps and I worry about him in the finals.

Aloiai was great today and Taupau had a fairly strong performance. I do think we could benefit from another good middle. Not sold on Sipley’s lateral movement and as mentioned, Keppie’s rocks and diamonds.

100%. Really have missed Paseka. Keppie is capable of some great aggressive play, but he is prone to those brain explosions and we want to minimise the loose canons in finals.

I think you are spot on. We need the big boppers rolling up the field and defending well in the middle. And agreed that the use of Walker is messy. As you say we have enough strike power without him and i find he just disrupts the attack as he just does individual stuff.

our problems today weren't prop issues - they were all skill and concentration problems. We just had pumpkins on instead of heads. There was no effort across the park. Aloiai, Marty Walker, Foran - all good. The rest you wouldn't give a cup of cold tea for!
