Post-Game Discussion Warriors V Manly [Round 2, 2025]

Poor game plan last night trying to blow the warriors away from inside our 30 and givng up cheap possession. The razzamatazz should be saved until after you have earned field position. For all the talk of learnings it's time we started playing smarter football. Talk about slow learners.

Btw, has anyone seen Clayton Faulalo win a play the ball in FG yet?

That play to attack the bomb was a travesty last night. We’d worked the ball out of yardage and DCE put in a perfect kick to chew up a bit of time on the sin bin clock. We got up in the Warriors faces and reduced their yards and made them kick from their own half. The Metcalfe bomb was poor and no Warriors players were interested in contesting it. It landed 35-40 metres from our line and this hero comes running in like an AFL forward and jumps over himself to take the catch and fluffs it.

All that effort from the team for nothing. He should never be sighted in FG again.

Add to the zero penetration rag-dolling on every run… fancy having Lehi run kicks back and then following up with Faulolo hit up. Way to kill any momentum and have your attack on the back foot from the start.

We have 2-3 players who are to slow when they roll away from the tackle, Jake, Toff and Paseka. Do not know how many times I was shouting about Toff last night. Refereeing was quite ordinary suppose have to expect that playing away and having Adam Gee who like no other ref over officiates I reckon he blows more 6 agains that anyone else.

And Burbo, he’s all arms and legs clumsy on the ground - I thought the call against Toff was very harsh

Surely the much-resisted move for Tom to Centre now becomes irresistible. Much much less running and his problematic Hammies don't work so hard. With Lehi ready to go & Garrick a winger and not a centre, Garrick & Saab Wingers, Turbo & Koula Centres with Lehi at fullback is the ONLY sensible option.

This is what should absolutely happen. I really hope Hoppa forces the issue by being too good to take out of the #1.

The 6 agains killed us. Always on the 4th or 5th. Most of their tries were a result of this.
I don’t understand how it was so one sided though. They were lying all over us too? We were exhausted through lack of possession and as a result, could not produce quality attack.

I found the constant set restarts were ridiculous and the most annoying part of the game. Were we that ill-disciplined? I thought on many occasions the Warriors warranted being penalised for similar reasons too, but no it all went their way. I don't know what the tally was but it was something like 10-2 and of course all this defending used up our energy. (I've never liked the 6 again rule and wish it was banished!!)

Just pointing out how a relatively simple conversion miss, after Turbos try, changed out attacking psychology. A few minutes later DCE chose to take a penalty kick instead of continuing to attack. I'm not saying we would of scored, but It changed our thinking and sent a message to the Wahs. Thoughts ?

More like no learners. It's been 10 years and the lightbulb still hasn't lit up for any of them.

Not sure if that's on Seibold or the players (our senior players just don't seem able to play any other way), but you're right that Seibold's emphasis on "learnings" and "work-ons" and other buzzword-heavy "education-speak" leaves him open to ridicule when the players don't back any of it up.

Mate Paseka & Toff were not the problem last night. Jrbo was the one who was constantly holding down & cause of 6 of the 6 agains! Then 10 in the bin! I cannot understand why he takes so long to get off tackled players. It’s frustrating to watch. I’m at the point that I wish Seibs would drop him to reserves! He constantly does it & puts pressure on the rest of the team in the process! In turn people carry on about the teams lack of effort & bag other players yet think the sun shines out of his ar$e! I’m seriously over him.

Was not the coaches fault how the team played!!! They didn’t follow the game plan. Simple! Trbo, Jrbo & Brbo were hopeless last night. I’m seriously over the 3 of them!
