We had some fabulous MWTS tours to NZ.

We used to inhabit an Irish pub down on the Viaduct called “ OHagens “ it’s gone now sadly but it was Manly central.

I organised some special guests to attend and mix & mingle , we had Mattie Ridge one night , Craig Inness another but the best one was Sir Graham Lowe, who came , stayed for most of the night & even sang Eagle Rock with the band.

I think I did 8 tours there , we’d often have two bus loads ( up to 100 people ).

The very last work thing I ever did was the trip to Auckland in 2013 , and I stood up and thanked all the fans for their support over the previous decade but announced I was retiring. When they all asked , I said Monday ( this would have been Friday or Saturday ).

We flew back to Brisbane Sunday , I went into the office for the handover on Monday & left on Wednesday for 5 months in my then brand new caravan.

I just had a really good look at our draw and it's a bloody good one for us. Frankly with our roster and the cards we've been dealt if we don't make top 4 I'll consider the year a big failure. Gotta beat the vast majority of the mediocre teams and those lacking confidence like this mob. Fingers crossed we can put a few consecutive games together at a really high standard.
