I was just trying to ensure it was understood that my comments had nothing to do with Toovey's performance, but rather that Barrett's efforts are undeserving of derision, and that based on his efforts to date, he is up there with our favourites. That may change in a year but for now he deserves credit not mocking.

Agreed, he definitely looks to have all the hallmarks of a very fine coach. The magnitude of having to field a squad with more than 1.2 million less in the cap than 15 other teams is staggering: That's two exceptionally good players that he should have that he doesn't. Also the way he's turned around Sirro, Uate and to a lesser extent Perrett and co is testament to his ability. The players love him, he's passionate and yet calm and eloquent. He's also shown on a number of occasions this year that he can formulate an exceptionally effective yet simple game plan. All of these attributes highlight the fact that Trent Barrett though not the complete package appears very much to be a coach on the rise. Now if he'd just p1ss Brown off I'd give him. 9/10

With our current position (Win or Lose on Sunday), a good coach will get this Manly squad into the finals.

Considering our last 4 games are vs Tigers, Bulldogs, Warriors and Panthers and that the Panthers and Dragons play each other, missing the 8 would be a massive underachievment.

Also, Sironen is due back in round 25 which will strengthen us up the middle.

But moving on to these Baz rumours.
I have enjoyed the style Baz has coached into the team this year and I think we would be insane to let him go..
Even if, and god forbid, we don't make the 8 we are building a good style of footy that should only get better.
Currently though we need our confidence back. And quick.
