82 grand final was so disappointing after destroying the whinging worms in the major semi, I think we played our grand final that day an the match was decided when it went from 3-3 to 3-16 in about 5 minutes, that put paid to our chances and they never let their lead or dominance stop.

83 I thought we were outsiders this time as we struggled all season against them and they buried us twice in the home and away. They got 2 of their tries from our own mistakes and at 18-0 down we were buried before the inevitable rally.

Blake left Manly after the 1986 season. He played at Brookie again in games vs Manly when at Souths, Norths, Canberra & Auckland.

In 1996 in the last five minutes of what would be his final game at Brookie, Blake got one more solo try.

Looked like another ex-eagle Gene Ngamu taking the conversion.

Mate '83 we choked badly. We blitzed everyone that year and won the minor premiership by 8 points. Won the mid week cup and beat the worms 19-10 in the semi final. It was the year that got away.

In 1983 Parra did however beat us 24-6 at Brookie & then 26-6 at Belmore. They must have been foxing in the semi & knew they could put it together on the big day, unfortunately.
