Trump

I think it’s you & 47MVEagle that are clearly incompetent. All you had to do was search up Mountain Home Air Force Base if you didn’t know what it was… Pretty simple
So we do not take the words into account and need to search?

If it was so clear why did he need to post this?

It is okay to say someone you like politically makes a mistake. He made a mistake and then clarified it - not sure why this is so hard

No need for that mate, I acknowledged your further information on the matter, if you want to be a d1ckhead about it, don't expect any further discussion with me.

Not a double standard at all?

MAGAt’s can go dumpster diving for articles by fossil fuel scientists and 2012 apocalypse believers on the topic of climate change. The original research papers and some primary pieces of evidence are introduced, then what? Crickets. Not crickets because they are silenced by fact; but probably because they didn’t even care to open the bloody thing.

Next minute they’ll whip out some random Fox News article and say “liberal radical left media won’t show you this!”. Probably about some topical bull**** like ‘Antifa’. Or how trans people are terrorists. Stats introduced on any of the new topics? Crickets again.

The list of fiction MAGAt’s care to fact check grows every day. Most of the time there’s not even a legitimate source.

Yet here a poster echoed Hegseth’s words and is called incompetent because he didn’t take the extra step of correcting Hegseth’s (accidental) misinformation?

US still had to sweeten the deal, so at least the claim was 50% of the way there.

It’s good that you searched it up, and I’d be happy if that caught on and became the norm. My issue is, are the facts only worth reporting to MAGAt’s when it is convenient

The double standard honestly amazes me.

MAGAt’s can go dumpster diving for articles by fossil fuel scientists and 2012 apocalypse believers on the topic of climate change. They can whip out Fox News articles and say “liberal radical left media won’t show this!”, or jump aboard topical bull**** like ‘Antifa’ and conclude - without receipt - that trans people are terrorists. Other countries pay tariffs, only rapists and terrorists are being deported, etc, etc, etc. The list, well it goes on and on and on.

And today? An anti-MAGA poster echoes Hegseth’s words and suddenly the onus is on him to correct Hegseth’s (accidental) misinformation? Why, should we expect that MAGAt’s hold a higher standard for research and fact-checking?

Well that’s a hard no, no they don’t. It is sadly tolerated/normalised, but it is not even remotely close.

US still had to sweeten the deal, so at least the claim was 50% of the way there.

The MAGAt’s on here routinely dish out 0.1 - 10% (being generous). In reality, they generally keep any stats out of their posts altogether.

It’s good that you searched it up, and I’d be happy if that caught on and became the norm. My issue is, are the facts only worth reporting to MAGAt’s when it is convenient

(Thus far, the answer is an emphatic yes)
hmmm, your entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts.
Anyways what is a MAGAt ?

Unsure what you are referring to in the first sentence. If you have something specific in mind — good news; I respect specific. Fire away.

On MAGAt. Not sure if it is in common use. It is a lazy, fairly natural way of referring to a “MAGA fanboy”. Akin to calling a Trump fanatic a Trumper.

MAGA boils down to a discriminatory, thoughtless and anti-intellectual reactionary movement. Not every Trump voter is a MAGAt, no. It refers to the portion absent of self-reflection and critical thought. The ones that change stances on a whim based on Trump rhetoric, Fox sensationalism or contextual social media commentary.

When MAGAt types are confronted with challenging information, they do not meaningfully consider the information or broaden their understanding. Discussion cannot progress beyond the surface level with such a constraint so they either repeat baseless claims or introduce a new topic. Examples of this littered throughout this thread. Unsurprising given recent clips out of US congress

If I could just interrupt the Trump bashing for a moment, for those that may not have heard, the Israeli hostages have been returned. Apologies for interrupting. As you were.

As always in bad faith.

Great news the hostages have been released and very much a credit to Trump. Lets hope there is a lasting peace in the region

See it is not hard to acknowledge when someone you do not like does something that is good.

We've got enough nutters in Australia to worry about first!
Yep, was the Deputy leader of the Greens. They weren't into Thorpe's beliefs and the course she was taking. Not sure why she's bobbed her head up now, now that's it all over.
